Whatever happened to Decision Point Funding?

A year ago, Burbed.com featured this:

50-Year Mortgages are -hot- -hot- -hot- — Burbed.com: Your Silicon Valley Home and Mortgage Insanity Blog

It seems that their website is no longer active. Anyone know what happened?

Well, there appears to be a massage place at that address…

Ummm, looks like a 10-year old with Frontpage made that website—-not to down 10-year olds, most of them would do a better job.

  3. ubermonkey Says:

They’re also listed online as a “Credit Repair” company and as a maker of payday loans (which would make sense for the neighborhood). You win a prize for finding the sleaziest mortgage company ever.

  4. Decision Point Funding Says:

This ad was run in the PennySaver some time ago, when 50 year mortgages first came out.

The website has been down for several months, because the host went out of business, and frankly, you are right. A 10 year old would have done a better job with the website than the web host did. What a waste of money.

Not sure where you got that info about payday loans. Decision Point has never, and does not currently offer payday loans. Nor do we offer a credit repair service. Though, we did give one client a free referal to a credit repair service.

And, while it is true that there is a “massage place” next door, you will find, as I did, that the “massage place” is a theraputic massage. She works with doctors’ injury patients. Not like some of the places in Lodi that get busted all the time. And she works in scrubs not a mini-skirt. Yes, we read the news papers and watch the news too and Lodi is well know for “those” types of places. This is not one of “those”. If our office was next to a Chiropractor, would anyone have commented?

As with any start up, we needed to find a place that had very affordable rent, and this little spot has the most affordable rent in town. Others just work out of their garage and the trunk of the car, but we wanted clients to be able to come to an office.

As to your opinion that you found the sleaziest mortgage place around: While everyone else was hard selling option ARMS so the broker could get huge fees, we were talking out clients out of taking them because they are just a time bomb waiting to go off…as is evidenced by the current foreclosure rate.

Its unfortunate that in the internet age, an opinion based on wrong information, gets reported as fact.

    The facts are:

Yes, that was our ad in the PennySaver
Yes, the website was poorly done
Yes, there is a reputable, theraputic massage next door.
Yes, we advised our clients NOT to take loans that would blow up on them in the future
No, we have never offered payday loans
No, we have never and do not currently offer credit repair service

Quite frankly, if we did conduct ourselves in a sleazy manner, we would be making a lot more money. I can’t tell you how many clients we have lost to brokers who promise interest rates that simply are not available. Or brokers who quote an adjutable rate as a fixed rate, to clients that we quoted a legitimate fixed rate to.

It seems that Burbed.com was just doing an innocent follow up on an old story.

Normally I would not take the time to respond to these types of posts, but your information is flawed and harmful. We still offer home loans, but we are disenchanted with that business because we have to compete with people out there who will tell the client ANYTHING to get the loan. We just won’t do it. We tell the client the bad news first, if there is any, instead of when they go to sign the papers to fullfill their dream.

We realize you were making assumptions based on limited information. But now you have the full story. Meanwhile, if you want to get a homeloan, refi, etc, we will also give you the whole story. If you want a payday loan or credit repair, you will need to check elsewhere.

  5. Scammed Says:

Looking for anyone who feels this company scammed them!

I know who the owner is and where he might be!

  7. Fed Up! Says:

Oops! Typo error that is Freedom Solutions.
