Those columns sure go with the house. Why they probably added at least 100,000!
All I can think of is this video clip.

Nice flipper job.
Quintessential “lipstick on a pig”…..

I better get myself some ‘mahbul’ columns.

Area 51: It’s definitely lipstick on a pig. There’s no way this ranch should be built up like one of Saddam’s palaces.
But I doubt it was a flipper who installed those fine columns. Too much work and money. The same goes for the chandelier, plaster medallions, marble fireplaces and all the other ostentatious garbage. It’s more likely that the homeowners had more money than taste…or had some borderline psychological problem.

This house reminds me of those kids who buy a 10,000 dollar Honda Civic and spend another 10,000 souping it up (ha ha) with junky parts to add +50 decibels to the exhaust and +6 horsepower. Don’t forget the stickers!
I’m sure those columns are the cardboard (whatever they’re made out of) ones and are just wrapped around the original square posts. Ugh. Cheap!

Hehe, yeah. “People gonna look atcha house an’ go ‘who lives deah, da Pope?’”

I wonder if there’s a house out there that’s powered by v-tec.

I do have to say that they did take nice pictures. Even if the house is a little over the top and not to my taste, they are doing a good job marketing it.

Yes, as Moe said it’s not bad workmanship; it’s just that it’s a very particular type of decoration. And while redecoration is always possible, that’s a lot of work there to rip out–especially considering that you just paid 1.1 MILLION dollars for the house!

BURBED!!! Hhahahahahha. I’m so glad you posted the SNL skit. I was ready to link to it here.

Savvy – I can take pictures more appealing than that with my $200 nikon. I expect better from professionals selling a $770/sq ft house.

All I can say is:
Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga! Toga-Toga-Toga!!!
The homeowner should have been pictured wearing a Toga, with an olive leaf wreath on his/her head and the left eyebrow raised up high in pride, a la “Bluto” of Animal House -staaaately!
