This San Bruno house is listed as 99 years old. It looks like it might be an original “earthquake shack”, the pre-fab post ’06 houses given to refugees after the earthquake. It looks the right size and shape. If so, the only right thing to do would be to landmark it! http://www.outsidelands.org/shacks.php Then no one could tear it down!

This has got to be the most insane Burbed property yet – even more so than the “falluja” place.

The only thing that could begin to make this make sense is, it IS priced in US Dollars.

I’m sure we’ve all heard of the story from Germany’s Weimar period inflation, that a busboy working at a hotel saved ONE gold coin and was able to use it to buy the whole hotel.

Why don’t we tear these little POS bungalows down and replace them with trees or parks or something that adds bio-diversity? Ah hell…just put a new coat of paint on it, add some granite counters and dual-pane windows and flip it for $600K.

Actually, burbed does make a good point; this would be a pretty decent crash-pad for airliner crew on layover.

Freeway noise, check. Heavy traffic on San Bruno Ave, check. Caltrain racket (but too far from the station), check. Airport noise, check check check check check.

A location for the deaf only, like living in a war zone. And not even good for a teardown – the lot is about a third of the width of the apartment complex next door. You’d have to do some funky front-to-back duplex thing.
