At first, you might think: Hm… $1.25 million for a 99 year old 2/1 with 1020 sqft?
But then you perk up: it’s East Palo Alto.
And then you perk up even more: It’s on a 32k sqft lot.
HOLY COW. 32,000 sqft! Good lord! What can youdo with all that land?
Personally, I’d take acue from the present owner:
What was going on there? Copper ore strip mining! You know – the commodities market is going through the roof these days after all! This is your chance to become rich!
Just think of the potential. It’s like the 1849′s all over again if you buy this $1.25 million property. Fulfill your Californian destiny – speculate today and profit!

Looks like a fly-by-night condo developer is trying to exit the market.
On the other hand, you could make a pretty decent walled compound on 32,000 square feet. Install a helipad, hire armed guards, you’ve got yourself a dream house!

PS “runnymede” street? LOL.

I guess we know where Dmitry Orlov’s new digs will be……

@DensityDuck
You’re correct. Burbed completely missed the point. The lot size is large enough for the security precautions you’ll need to live in that neighborhood. You say walled compound, I say full-on moat with drawbridge driveway.

I dunno, with all the utility trucks littering the grounds I think there was probably some digging going on. Which is all part of the EPA “special.”

Build your own green zone!

The Army could buy the site, build an MOUT training center, and hire bums off the street as “terrorists”.

If you check Toxmap (http://toxmap.nlm.nih.gov/toxmap/main/index.jsp) near this house and click on Toxic Release Inventory, you will find that this area is great if you like chemicals…
Toluene, Xylene, 1,1,1 Trichloroethane and more! Those smell fantastic in case you don’t know.

what a quaint, Normandy farmhouse, with a white picket fence, even! Personally, I like the neighborhood; TCE contaminants are a non-issue. Add a few gun turrets, and presto — instant Green zone, with a rustic, Third World appeal. Burbed, what a zesty find. Woot!

Oooh, 111-TCE. The odor you’ll never forget.
