Now as we all know, Newark technically isn’t in The Real Bay Area. After all, the median price there is below $690k.
But still, Burbed reader Peter thought it would be nice to share this entry. And I agree. For those not fortunate enough to make more than $125k a year, this is a good opportunity for you to at least live near The Real Bay Area.
In particular, Peter called out the kitchen – let’s take a look:
Wow, is that retro chic or what? $399k for 752 sqft, includes this? Sold, sold, sold.
If I were you, I’d keep it exactly like this – they don’t make appliances like that anymore, and thus it can go only up.
Or at the very least, you can donate this kitchen to the Smithsonian and get a big write off!

There’s no HOA – anyone surprised by that? No? The gigantic stump in the middle of the front lawn should tip you off. But it’s a single-family home not in the middle of a war zone for less than $400K, so hey.

OMG! Look at that stove! You can’t find that kind of ‘retro’ these days. This home is worth every penny of $399,950. LOL

You mean that stump wasn’t left as a picnic table? I can imagine the home owners dining outside in the beautiful bay-ish area weather, after cooking a fine meal inside that lovely kitchen. Think of all the steak you can afford after you buy this delightful home for under $400,000. It’s a bargain!

I grew up with a stove like that. Believe it or not people will pay good money for a stove like that. They’re build like tanks.

Why, oh, why is the window above the sink boarded up? Did a garbage dump get put in next door?

Oh man I can just smell the mold! I don’t know which turns me on more, the metal pipe out of the back of the stove (easy to put a wood stove in though) or the layer of dust on that bulby thing over the sink!
Bring boric acid!

OK ok I’ll lay off the stove though, grew up with one with a clogged pilot light, we lit the fucker with a match in the morning, they ARE built like tanks

It looks like this is also a short sale. The owner refinanced to borrow $435,478 on 6/1/2004. Smart home owner, stupid bank.

My grandmother had a stove like that in her house. It probably doubled as a bomb shelter during the cold war era.
