Great opportunity to buy this single detached home in Oakland. The property shows well with many upgrades including new laminate flooring, dual pane windows, granite counters, new cabinets, central heating and much more.
Burbed reader George had this to say:
This house doesn’t really fit with the houses you normally show, and Oakland is definitely not in the Bay Area any more, but I can’t get over that this house is still standing in a major city
Well, you see George, that’s what makes the Bay Area special – you’re always discovering incredible gems like this one. Frankly, if anything, they should be selling these at Home Depot in the lumber section – maybe you could just tow it over to your plot of land with your Ford Incursion.
At the end of the day, you can’t argue with the fact that this is a single detached house. Some places, like Manhattan, don’t even have any single detached houses!
Now, if there was only some way to add dubs to this…

How many bullet holes in it?

The $422K was probably the amount owed on the house — that was the price at the foreclosure sale. The house sold in July 2005 for $320,000. How’d they add a hundred thousand to the mortgage balance so quickly? Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Company) owns this jewel, and is losing at least $140K on it.

Here is another cheap Oakland house asking for $275.5K:
http://www.movoto.com/real-estate/homes-for-sale/CA/Oakland/2474-82nd-Ave-12_40318580.htm
But I know the highest offer is only $155.5K. Here is the transaction history:
2/20/2007 $450,352 Trustee’s Deed upon Sale Resale First American Loanstar Te Svc HSBC Bank USA Inc 569425986
4/12/2006 $520,000 Grant Deed Resale Twymon, Leah Rashad, Malik 379030038
7/12/2005 $450,000 Grant Deed Resale Stapleton, James Twymon, Leah 104237100
10/7/1999 $124,000 Grant Deed Resale Chavez, M R & Rito Poole, Sharon L 139083366
You figure how much the generous HSBC would lose on this one.

This neighborhood is actually really cool, well maybe not for a whitewashed crumbcake.
There are several amazing houses currently in the 94606 area that are Fu*#$ing amazing deals.
Actually, seems like the posters on this are more likely to bend over and pay to live in rockridge….
