There’s really nothing wrong with this house – except for what appears to be a soldier’s memorial in the front yard (helmet on a shovel?). But that’s to be expected for a deal like this – and in a great location right near Middlefield Road in Redwood City.
But the real reason I chose this house was because it’s on Hurlingame Ave – one of my favorite streets in the Bay Area.

The rails are close, but still a few blocks away. This area is actually rather nice. It has a nice little grid of streets and a real sense of community. There is an elementary school along Charter. Nearby shopping on Middlefield generates a lot of traffic, but at least it is convenient, and downtown is not much of a walk from there. It is still way overpriced for now, though. Oddly enough one of the biggest problems there is with boom time flippers not treating their properties well. This area really isn’t like the gang infested and flood prone shacks nearby that are often seen posted here.
