Single family attached with 2 car garage. Bay window-needs some TLC and you got a beauty.

Yeah yeah I can hear it already: “But Burbed, Gilroy isn’t in the Bay Area!”

I know, I know.

But I thought it’d be fun to revisit Gilroy – it’s been over a year since Gilroy week!

Personally, I think this house has a certain charm. I like how it segues into a pink house, from a yellow house – kind of like a vanilla and strawberry ice cream mix. Yum yum.

Sure Gilroy isn’t in the Bay Area anymore, but really – where else can you go to get a house like this?

They even have a small tree on the side. Just in case you have a sudden urge to look at one, you don’t have to drive 15 miles.

  2. Prof. Bleen Says:

It’s even better than that: with the brown garage door, you’ve got yourself a Neapolitan house!

    Nice ice cream sandwich!

The main garage looks normal. Pink garage is the second one. So it must be Playboy garage – entry to your fantasy world. Hmmmmmm, girls with bikini must be waiting inside for you. Your 2nd life in 2nd garage. All you need is a remote control to open the garage.

Er burbed, are you trying to imply that this house has dropped a lot in price? You can find quite a few in the east bay now with this price, and probably a bigger lot, just go check MLS.

Of course the garlic factor might entice someone to pay a lot more.

Are you picking on east bay, rick? Too bad. A few weeks back I met a guy from Fremont (a homeowner in Fremont). He was telling how Fremont is going to be next happening place in whole bay area.

    Water Park

Houses in Gilroy are one-level and shabby. Back in the 90s, people who couldnt afford a house in the real bayarea moved to Gilroy. Gilroy is a blue-collar town, not that theres anything wrong with that.

Oh, you mean that Warren Buffett who never understood the joy of living in some Real places? I am sure he is still busy shoveling snow in Nebraska with a pathetic face while RBA homeowners are happily watering their lawns.

    He says here:
“Once a price history develops, and people hear that their neighbor made a lot of money on something, that impulse takes over, and we’re seeing that in commodities and housing…Orgies tend to be wildest toward the end. It’s like being Cinderella at the ball. You know that at midnight everything’s going to turn back to pumpkins & mice. But you look around and say, ‘one more dance,’ and so does everyone else. The party does get to be more fun — and besides, there are no clocks on the wall. And then suddenly the clock strikes 12, and everything turns back to pumpkins and mice.”

What? Cinderella? Looks like it was a long and cold winter for Mr. Buffett in 2006. He could not get out of his home. He was getting bored and reading Cinderella.

By the way, to re-iterate, hahaha, I still have no idea why anyone would want to live in the South Bay, let alone Gilroy. Holy hell, that’s my worst nightmare: being stuck in that god-forsaken place.

MSG – where do you live? With initials like yours it must be in San Francisco. In Chinatown. AHAHAHAHAHAH!

Pralay – Right! Warren Buffett has no appreciation for how special it is here! Pumpkins and mice my million dollar shack! Here in the RBA we have artichokes and ants! Keep your goldurn pumpkins in Half Moon Bay (which isn’t in the RBA either).

Prof. Bleen – I was going to say that about the chocolate colored roof and 2nd garage door. But you left out your chance to make a crack about garlic flavored ice cream.

All – I’m noticing an awful lot of contractors’ specials that aren’t that old. I live in a part of Sunnyvale that many of you would consider RBA, but the houses were built in the fifties and sixties. So were the newer tracts built crappy, or did the owners not have any money left to care for them?

Here Warren Buffett reached Nebraska-Colorado border. Three more states to go before he reaches California and realizes the joy of watering lawn.

    Hahaha! Pralay, you are funny.

  15. ex-sunnyvale-renter Says:

As usual they put an extra zero on the end of the price. Take that off, and it might sell. Who’s going to be able to afford the commute with gas at $10 a gallon, which it may be inside of a decade? And the land’s not big enough to grow much garlic…..

Garlic. ….. can’t even grow that on the moonscape I’m living on right now.
