Thanks to Burbed reader Garret for this find. Garret was wondering if this house was built on dead houses. A Frankenstein’s monster of houses.

Huh? All I see is a fantastic looking bridge – very zen in East San Jose!

Maybe a closer examination of the photos may be required.

Uh. Interesting use of orange and lime(?) green. It totally has this tropical feel that makes me think of Cuba – how fitting for the street name.

I like the plant. It’s an interesting study in isolation.

And check it out, you don’t need to move to Belmont to have granite everywhere – you can save a few hundred thousand and live in East San Jose to get the same effect!

At this price, I don’t know how you could afford not to buy this house!

So where’s this bonus area that the description mentions?

Rental prices for apartments in San Franicsco are falling? >> Local News
Rental prices for apartments in The City, which had been skyrocketing for nearly two years, fell in October, as an avalanche of pink slips across San Francisco weighed on average household incomes and led freshly unemployed workers to abandon city living, new figures show.

The average rent for a one-bedroom unit advertised on fell 2.4 percent in one month to $2,293, according to the city controller’s October economic barometer report, released this week. That price, however, was still 3.7 percent higher than at the same time last year.

San Francisco rents started falling in October and continued to fall in November, according to Victor Calanog, senior economist at national research firm Reis Inc.

OMG. What is going on here?

If this isn’t a sign of the apocalypse, I don’t know what is.

No no… the world is not ending. This is clearly just a blip. I think the real reason is that renters are flocking out to buy up some of those sweet deals in Redwood City, Manteca, and other places.

Yeah. That must be it.

Burbed downtime tonight…

Just as a heads up, there may be some downtime tonight as I try to figure out the root cause of this week’s instability. My apologies in advance.

Bank… or house…you decide… in San Mateo

You really can’t argue with that description. Indeed this truly is a must see, given that no other photos were included. Personally, I’m in love with the architecture. Is it a bank with drive through window? Is it a Spanish version of a German Pillbox? Is it a future location for El Pollo Loco? Is it your dream house?

So much potential! So little price!

I can’t believe it was built in 1922. They sure had some foresight back then to build something so stunning even today!

Great 3 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom Home in San Mateo. Well Kept and Maintained by Owner.

Well kept and maintained by the owner indeed. From these pictures, it’s pretty clear that’s the case.

In particular, I really like the symmetry between the front of the house and the rear of the house. The front is paved over, so that you can park all your cars there. The back? Why, it’s Highway 101 – where cars are also parked for good parts of the day.

If this isn’t artistic genius, I don’t know what is!

Charming California rancher nestled in the Belomont hills. Remodeled bathrooms and kitchen brings home to life. A new 200 sun room brings entertaining to a whole new level. The home is perfect for friends and family. Best value in Belmont. Call today to schedule your viewing.

There we go. After yesterday’s brief scare, I was fortunately able to find a more reasonably priced house in Belmont. PHEW.

But wait… there’s more!

1- I love the idea of a 200+ sun room. But… uh… wouldn’t 200 degrees be kind of warm?

2- I love the name Reposo. It sure sounds like another words… I just can’t put my finger on it.

Apologies for the downtime…

Over the weekend, I upgraded this site to the latest version of WordPress, and since then the CPU and memory usage has been surging all over the place.

I’m continuing to investigate. Sorry for the wackiness.

So many surprises at this Belmont home

3BR/2BA W/1290 /-SF LOCATED ON 6720 /-SF LOT. SECLUDED LOC. PROPERTY HAS A FENCED YARD, 2 CAR GARAGE, LR/DR COMBO. Upgraded drainage system and landscapped yard with sprinkler system. Property needs new carpets. This is a short sale, all offers to be submitted to lender until short sale approval.

1- Whoa, more short sales in Belmont? What is going on here?! Belmont… your membership in the Real Bay Area is in Real Danger!

2- If it is a short sale, why use the lucky price? Why not just go for a price that clears as fast as possible? You know… offer at something ridiculously low like $650,000 and then watch as people trip over themselves outbidding each other for it.

3- Still not sold? There’s $115,112 in equity waiting to be tapped since this last sold for $795,000 on 7/21/2006. A far more reasonable price if you ask me!

4- That’s one heck of a shadow!
