Then again, having lived in the UK “pop off” had more immediate connotations for me. Certainly more meaning than some dead dude, no matter how impressive his resume.

And I cite Bill Mauldin, in his autobiography “The Brass Ring” written in the 1950s, using the term “pop off” to describe his own journalistic style. Oops that’s right, being American yourself you’ll have no idea who this Pulitzer prize winner is, guess you’ll just have to look him up. Say hi to Willie and Joe for me.

Madhaus – the funny thing is, my real name is Alex, and I suspect there are at least one more Alex on here, “RealAlex”, and I think there’s another one?

I’m just not sophisticated enough to join in the more technical discussions here, but I can sure be a pop off. And, I’ve spent a few years in the BA and know a lot of the neighborhoods talked about. So, I make my one pop off comment a day, maybe at times two.
