Lately one of the more obnoxious and odious trends by those who are wealthy and oboxious and odious is to put their house on the market, say there is an open house, have people over, get them all jealous, and then tell them “THIS HOUSE IS MINE!”. It’s called being a “House Tease”
Of course this never would happen in the Bay Area where people are civil. That’s why you haven’t heard of it. But you never know.
The owner and Realtor of this house clearly wanted to make sure that foreigners from other states and countries know that this house is not a tease, but that it is really for sale. It’s for their benefit. And, to help lure in their money.
But just to make sure those who are cynical and jaded feel more comfortable, they included tiny pictures so as have some sort of teasy-ness to it.
And now you know!

Perhaps a naive question, but why does having just 1 owner make any difference?

> why does having just 1 owner make any difference?
Pride of ownership maybe? And if someone spent 16 years in a house, the house must be great, no?
It could also be for the potential buyer to feel great about bringing more money to the city with a much higher property tax.

Sad, when I saw the square footage of the lot, I thought it was for the house at first.

I’m enjoying herve week. perhaps we should have a herve month?

You could have said the exact opposite yesterday

> perhaps we should have a herve month?
I think burbed may have enough material for a herve month but I’d rather see a Pralay week, a steve week, or even a RealEstater week full of cubical houses…

It looks like the “powerful forces in Washington” will have to keep tinkering awhile:

Saying “one owner” is akin to saying “one sexual partner”.
You don’t want to move into a house that a long string of owners carrying who-knows-what-diseases has had their with many times. Just going in and out and in and out as much as they like! It’s disgusting!
Discerning owners want a fresh, clean, unsoiled house. Those newly-built, virgin homes are highly sought after.
The only downside being you don’t know how well it’s going to meet your needs – no one else has tried it out first and attested to it’s satisfation.
I feel dirty. Let’s stop this right here.

anybody notice its been for sale since Sept 2007 YIKES

But if anything goes wrong you can always stick it to the house’s inexperience.

Fed pushes back recovery forecast!? No way!
So long as “recovery” requires ignorant people to have access to copious amounts of money, it will be a while. We may never return to an era where the more ignorant someone was, the more access to money they had.
Thank. god.
ps: arnold, they’re just waiting for the market to ‘recover’…LOL
No seller should ever have to sell at a loss!

A. Lewis – Yes, let’s stop right here, or we might all get a twinge of guilt when comes the time to upgrade to a Trophy house…

“No seller should ever have to sell at a loss!”
Well said!~ and nobody should ever have to lose their jobs! Guaranteed employment, like in Dubai!
April 8th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Dubai? Really?
I read about how they were hunting down unemployed ex-pats for deportation. That’ll keep the jobless numbers low! And in Japan they were offering $3k for South Americans of Japanese descent to go back home.

nomadic – guaranteed employment for Emirati people / Dubai citizens
