“Landing Lane” in Millbrae?
Why don’t they just have the address as “Terminal 1, Gate B34″?
You don’t even have to look at it to know this listing isn’t going to end well – cat portrait and all!
Alright, let’s first look at the cat portrait:
Hey that’s not bad. It really adds balance to the wall heater next to it. Actually, this is a clever marketing scheme. It tags onto the rising popularity of Caturdays! “Open house this caturday!” Oooh the ring of that is just amazing!
As for the joke about Terminal 1 Gate B34?
Nice try – but this is actually far closer to the international terminal. Which makes sense since it’s the international people who have the money these days.
I can see it now – one of the many billionaires from Shanghai is flying to SFO to visit. As he passes over Landing Lane he sighs. “I know my investment is safe. I can see it from here.”
That in itself is worth it right there.

Great place if you have a job at the airport, anything from skycap to A&P mechanic, but why’s the price so off kilter? Someone made a type and put the decimal point one place to the right of where it should be.
April 20th, 2009 at 11:50 am
I mean one place to the left …. Oh F*ck tell ya what, I’ll pay ya $300 a month and keep the lawn nice, and in 10 years it’s mine? OK? Ok. Let’s spit on it.

Try this recent sale for one that’s REALLY close to the airport:

Hey what’s going on in the market today? I thought RE guaranteed the DOW would hit 8,500. In fact, I believe he called it a no-brainer. He wasn’t being literal, was he?

I’m surprised he hasn’t said ‘Mission Accomplished’ yet.

RealEstater was too busy in winning.
Mid-year is just a few months away, guys.

#3 – I like the price history:
Date Event Price Appreciation Source
Feb 27, 2009 Sold $480,000 -25.2%/yr Public Records
Apr 15, 2008 Sold $618,184 -10.2%/yr Public Records
Mar 22, 2006 Sold $773,000 — Public Records
$773 in 3/06 – now THAT’s the kind of bubble pricing we’re talking about. This, in my mind, is what supports $1.5M homes in Palo Alto – this is the move-up version in the wrong neighborhood.
Now this rung of the ladder has gone ka-plunk.
And what do you think about paying $480k to live in a flight path and a busy freeway? That’s at 38% off peak pricing!
As if we don’t have farther to fall in the lower-end of the market.
The hilarious part is this kind of crappy $480k home is the LOWER END of the peninsula market! (I know it’s not the lowest, but this isn’t even MRBA, right?)
What is wrong with people out there?

Guys, you’re forgetting that he posts in tautologies only. The DOW will hit 8500. I don’t recall him saying when.

In case you were thinking the foreclosures were pretty much done with – don’t forget there’s been a variety of stubby little fingers stuffed in the dyke – but they may be coming out now:
WSJ: Are the Moratoriums over?

And when it starts going above 8500, he expects to make some easy money. He didn’t say when.

Switching thread due to problem with spam filter:
DreamT,
Before I accuse you of slander, libel, hypocricy and other horrible terms that a guy of your caliber shouldn’t be associated with, would you care to explain what exactly is your issue with my credibility? After all, I have always maintained that credibility is the foundation of my postings. I don’t claim anything that is not actually true. If I mis-stated anything, I will openly admit to and correct it. In the event of serious doubt, I offered to prove my case. What more can you ask for?
April 21st, 2009 at 12:39 am
proper spelling of ‘hypocrisy’ and other basic terms would be a start. retraction of various insults directed to me would go a long way. civil behavior exempt of taunts and smugness would endear me (others call this “humility”). that’s what I personally ask for, but I can’t speak for the rest of the forum.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:08 am
DreamT,
I have not accused you of anything. You accused me of a credibility gap deserving of jail time. That’s the reason I need an explanation.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:26 am
you certainly exhibit vast comprehension problems. check metaphor on dictionary.com especially the bit around “not literally applicable”.
and refrain from giving lessons to Pralay in the future unless you start showing some command of the English language yourself

“I don’t claim anything that is not actually true.”
here’s helper #1
and here’s helper #2
Want to attempt self-moderation, genius?

DreamT,
I have not accused you of anything.
——-
RealEstater is proven liar for one more time. He accused (falsely) DreamT for fabricating things – here and here.
April 21st, 2009 at 9:32 am
I don’t claim anything that is not actually true.
——–
One more lie. RealEstater’s previous lies are documented here. That makes his above claim a lie.
——–
If I mis-stated anything, I will openly admit to and correct it.
——–
So, after proving him a liar, did he correct himself? No, he came up with following:
Yes, we all are “unsophisticated readers” (including DreamT who was never accused by RealEstater for anything). And this is coming from someone who cannot spell hypocrisy.

Schools have a large part in this house’s price, much as they do for otherwise scruffy-looking parts of Cupertino. If we’re talking low end – that’s San Bruno, South San Francisco, Daly City. You can get a scraper by the Cow Palace for $300-350K.

Before I accuse you of slander, libel, hypocricy
Well, they already mentioned to you that it’s ‘hypocrisy’. So I won’t go there.
Perhaps you could explain to everyone how you plan on accusing DreamT of “slander”? Since you have demonstrated a complete lack of logic and terminology in the past, let me give you a hint:
Slander is SPOKEN. Libel is written.
So unless you and DreamT have had a verbal conversation that I am not aware of, you cannot accuse him of slander.

I think you’re leaving out the worst parts, RWC near Atherton, North Fair Oaks, Menlo Park east of 101 (Which I think of as EPA West), and of course EPA.
Shoreview in San Mateo is considered lower end than this location in Millbrae I believe.

#18, #20 – You’re making the case that the peninsula has a lot of not-very-special places in it! That brings down the overall specialness factor for the area – and that’s bad for housing prices in the RBA! Shhh!!!
April 21st, 2009 at 5:35 pm
I think most people in the peninsula know that there are these relatively bad parts of the peninsula. So who are we trying to impress? Somebody in NJ who probably hasn’t heard of SMCo.?
