It’s Friday, so I figured I’d head over to the beach. Thanks to Burbed reader TK for this find!
Let’s see what TK had to say:
Hello Burbed,
The misspellings, syntax errors, and extreme hyperbole are way too common among our local real estate agents to even register as humorous anymore. Still, the below listing caught my eye because it lists 3 bedrooms (for an unusual property in Moss Beach) but displays two pictures of the identical bedroom. We know real estate agents don’t employ editors but why don’t they check their postings for errors? If I made a 6% comission on sales of million-dollar homes, I would feel a little obligated to get things right.
Clearly TK doesn’t read techcrunch or any other tech blogs! Hyperbole is mandatory! It’s what sells!
But, let’s take a look at those photos:
Sure there’s two pictures of the bedroom – but that’s only because it demonstrates so much of that new world charm!
That’s why this is the greatest property in the entire universe! (Note, there may be some hyperbole.)

Um, did that place use to be a Taco Bell?
August 21st, 2009 at 10:54 am
Once you buy this property, Moss Beach Police Department is going to outsource the job for issuing ticket for stop-sign violations in front of this house. Talk about stable income.

California unemployment rate hits 11.9%!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090821/ap_on_bi_ge/ca_california_jobs
“California’s unemployment rate climbed to 11.9 percent in July, the highest number in modern record-keeping”
Clearly a good time to buy!
August 21st, 2009 at 11:42 am
This place looks a lot worse on Streetview, I’m guessing someone fixed it up, possibly to flip.
August 22nd, 2009 at 9:33 pm
BAI,
Useless trailing statistic. A lot of jobs are coming when various programs launched by Obama kicks in in the coming months. Business activity is picking up as we speak. I’ve talked to management folks at various companies and they all say the same thing.
Before you argue with me, remind yourself of my track record. This is another outlook that will go down in Burbed in the “RE was right again” category.
August 22nd, 2009 at 9:43 pm
LOL – your track record? You could pick tomorrow’s winning lottery number and we still wouldn’t respect your prognostication. But keep ‘em coming.
August 22nd, 2009 at 9:48 pm
nomadic,
It’s the same pattern, usually starting with a “LOL”, until later on when you’re left speechless.
August 22nd, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Mark my words. Unemployment is on the way down, not up.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:02 pm
It was UP June to July. Are you calling a peak for July? All down from here or what? I’d love for you to be right this time.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:28 pm
Typical RealEstater. Of course unemployment is on the way down, and of course it’s on the way up. There’ll always be time later to contexify the statement.
In any case, should anyone doubt RE, he’ll probably pull this article which he’ll have bookmarked for the occasion:
http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_13177137?nclick_check=1
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:41 pm
See?! He’s already right! Wowwwwwwww.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Before you argue with me, remind yourself of my track record. This is another outlook that will go down in Burbed in the “RE was right again” category.
—-
The only problem with above statement that that ONLY RealExcreter is claiming so.
RealExcreter, if you keep saying “I am right, I am right”, someday someone will actually believe it. So keep it up.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Business activity is picking up as we speak. I’ve talked to management folks at various companies and they all say the same thing.
—–
I talked to some management folks at various companies and they ALL say that they are going to spend their next vacations in Moon.
See, I can make things up too.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Pralay,
Where is your brain? Both DreamT and Nomadic just said I’m right. Mercury News is claiming the same. Are you having trouble finding a job?
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:58 pm
RE, I was mocking you. Just so we’re clear.
August 22nd, 2009 at 10:59 pm
Where is your brain? Both DreamT and Nomadic just said I’m right. Mercury News is claiming the same. Are you having trouble finding a job?
—-
Count me too. Total 3.
(btw, that was sarcasm – for someone who does not have brain).
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:00 pm
RE, I was mocking you. Just so we’re clear.
—–
Talk about his BIG brain.
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:32 pm
I suppose the Mercury News was mocking me too?
In any case, my statement was forward looking. Just wait for some time, and you’ll be mocking yourself. History has a way of repeating itself.
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:33 pm
#14 – I didn’t say you’re right. I said you’re full of hot air. Are you having comprehension trouble yet again?
If local unemployment inches up in August, the SJ Mercury article will still be right while you’ll have been wrong.
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:40 pm
I suppose the Mercury News was mocking me too?
——–
Well, if you use that article (where it said unemp is down from 11.9 to 11.8 – that’s 0.1%) to support your “unemployment is way down” statement, you are mocking yourself.
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:50 pm
Pralay and DreamT,
Isn’t it too early for you guys to declare that I’m wrong? Given that my statement was forward looking, how the heck can you make such a claim?
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:51 pm
I think both of you have reading comprehension problems, especially at this time of the morning. Go to bed if you can’t handle it here.
August 22nd, 2009 at 11:56 pm
Gotta love it when you guys continue to argue. You’ll just be that much more embarrassed when you realize the trend late in the game, as you always do. Essentially that’s the main difference between us. One of us is always ahead of the curve, and the other always behind. Still the gray area owner is better than the dedicated rentard.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:04 am
excreter go go go!!!
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:04 am
HA, I didn’t declare that your statement is wrong. On the contrary, I asserted that you de-contextualize your statements such that you can always show vacuous proofs of being right in hindsight. At the moment for example, I can prove that unemployment is both up and down. But thanks for playing.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:06 am
By HA I meant, of course, H.A.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:06 am
Isn’t it too early for you guys to declare that I’m wrong? Given that my statement was forward looking, how the heck can you make such a claim?
—-
Did I? I thought I declared that you are right – in #16.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:08 am
“gray area owner”
Call me Professor Snape, Potter.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:08 am
You’ll just be that much more embarrassed when you realize the trend late in the game, as you always do. Essentially that’s the main difference between us. One of us is always ahead of the curve, and the other always behind
—–
Again, the problem with above statement is that it is claimed by RealExcreter himself – about himself.
August 23rd, 2009 at 12:37 am
At the moment for example, I can prove that unemployment is both up and down.
——
But, as he stated in #18, if you wait for some time, RealEstater will proven to be right. As his statement is “forward looking”, you cannot declare him wrong, but he can declare himself right.
August 23rd, 2009 at 9:35 am
>>At the moment for example, I can prove that unemployment is both up and down. But thanks for playing.
Actually, there’s no need to prove anything at the moment. The truth will play itself out, just like a few months ago the same fools were debating whether the pending sale signs were real, or whether Q1 was the bottom. We know the answers now.
August 23rd, 2009 at 9:40 am
Pralay,
Do you still want to debate whether Dow 6500, 7500, or 8500 is a good buy? You see how time washes away your arguments?
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:14 am
Do you still want to debate whether Dow 6500, 7500, or 8500 is a good buy? You see how time washes away your arguments?
—–
Oh, anybody can claim anything in internet. You claimed “millions” things (and you don’t bother to repeat when they become false). Those three calls shows that you were making call almost every month.
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:15 am
The truth will play itself out, just like a few months ago the same fools were debating whether the pending sale signs were real, or whether Q1 was the bottom. We know the answers now.
—–
Both turned out to be false.
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:20 am
Actually, there’s no need to prove anything at the moment.
——-
That’s right. As long as RealExcreter keeps saying “I am right, I am right”, shamelessly, no prove is required. His “I am right” statement proves it.
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:49 pm
Why don’t you all cool down? A lot of things are subjective, but most economist think the worst is over. Job market is still bleak, but layoffs have slowed. House market is down a lot in San Jose compared to a year ago, but investors are buying up foreclosures and renting them out. Oh, one last thing. Whoever called out buying the Dow at 6500, 7500, or 8500 made 3 right calls in a row. Good job!
August 23rd, 2009 at 8:00 pm
I know SV Shopper, the worst is over. It’s good time to buy home now. Why are you still renting?
August 23rd, 2009 at 10:24 pm
“Most economists?” Really? What I’ve heard from the government and from the majority of news reports, the forecasts are similar to this:
http://forecasts.org/unemploy.htm
Unemployment won’t bottom out until the end of this year. Care to be much more specific with your prediction so the current up/down conflict is resolved. As it stands, RE’s prediction is wholly useless (because it has already been proven both right and wrong).
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:16 pm
“Most economists?” Really?
—–
Yessss. “Most economists” predicted recovery in July. It’s August now. Worst is over.
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Here is what you are all saying:
1. It is hard to find a job in the Bay Area.
2. Economy is bad in the Bay Area.
3. Home prices in Bay Area is unreasonably high compared to the pay.
If Bay Area sucks so much, why is everyone still here? It seems like this is the perfect place for someone who enjoys punishment.
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:37 pm
If Bay Area sucks so much, why is everyone still here? It seems like this is the perfect place for someone who enjoys punishment.
—-
The premise of your argument is wrong – as usual. Therefore it is not surprising that your conclusion will be wrong too – as usual.
August 23rd, 2009 at 11:45 pm
Please enlighten me.
As usual? First time ever posted here, smart ass.
August 24th, 2009 at 12:30 am
Please enlighten me.
—-
Come on! I thought you aRE smart and figured out “what [we] are all saying” so fast.
August 24th, 2009 at 12:34 am
Wait, you’re all arguing with RealEstater for claiming he has a track record? But he’s RIGHT! He has a track record, all right. Must I remind all of you of the track record?
RE has the best track record of anyone on this site for demonstrating, again and again and again, the old saw Better to keep one’s mouth shut and worry others will think one’s an idiot, than to open one’s mouth and prove it beyond a doubt.
Track record? RE reminds me of the hunter who couldn’t determine if he was following deer tracks or moose tracks, and pondered the problem for so long he was hit by a locomotive.
August 24th, 2009 at 1:39 am
“First time ever posted here, smart ass.”
Liar – as usual.
August 24th, 2009 at 10:41 am
Track record? RE reminds me of the hunter who couldn’t determine if he was following deer tracks or moose tracks, and pondered the problem for so long he was hit by a locomotive.
—-
LOL! Whether it is deer track or moose track or train track, he claims he has a “consistent track record”. But as documented here, it does not look like he follows a track consistently. Rather he is a guy who is driving on wrong highway but still insisting passengers that he is in right track.
August 24th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
ok, Top Dog, I’ll play along and not assume you are RE. Just because things may suck here now, it doesn’t mean things wouldn’t suck more elsewhere and that it will remain suck-y here forever. To believe we are all permanently bearish on the area is foolish – which is why certain folks here think you are another logic-impaired person who posts here on a regular basis.
August 24th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
which is why certain folks here think you are another logic-impaired person who posts here on a regular basis.
—-
As Mike said, two logic-impaired persons with same degree of logic-impairment posting on burbed is too much to be a coincidence.
August 24th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
DreamT & Pralay: Congratulations on chasing someone away from Burbed.
Of course, since burbed is apparently happy with his comments being “The DreamT And Pralay Flame Real-Estater Show”, I guess that doesn’t matter.
August 24th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
That game got old. Time to move on, don’t you think?
August 24th, 2009 at 4:36 pm
Of course, since burbed is apparently happy with his comments being “The DreamT And Pralay Flame Real-Estater Show”, I guess that doesn’t matter.

Spelling your own name differently does not make a different person, you know.
August 24th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
whango tango, how dare you not mention me!
August 24th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
whango tango, can we call you Ted for short?
August 24th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
Speaking of which, I would love to see some new people commenting (as opposed to people using the same IPs, and generating new names.)
What can we do to get more people to comment on burbed?
August 24th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
burbed on twitter! or paint “Burbed” on your car. Or a Burbed contest and you win a pink house. Or we could always distribute Burbed flyers door to door.
August 24th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
If you want to increase your readership, I would ban real estater.
August 24th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
aw, anon, that wouldn’t be any fun.
Interesting that burbed is seeing multiple names from the same IPs though! Can we assume you aren’t referring to the “estater” names the regulars sometimes adopt (but make obvious it’s us)?
August 24th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
I think it is interesting, sometimes there are Real Estater free discussions that are actually interesting (admittedly Pralay is not involved either) usually it involves Madhaus, A Lewis, Nomadic, and/or DreamT, Sonarrat doesn’t post as much, but he is helpful too. I hardly ever post myself. There used to be a WillowGlenner that was also a permabull, seemed happy to lose money every month on a rental provided it would appreciate somewhat at some point.
I don’t know what would create more interest in this blog, unfortunately you can no longer find ridiculous overpriced houses in the middle of the ghetto.
What ever happened to Renter4, fremont-renter, ex-sunnyvale-renter, mrbouge, WillowGlenner, and silica?
August 24th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
> What can we do to get more people to comment on burbed?
Maybe get rid of the “sum of 1 + 0″ test. That alone prevents all of bob’s family to comment.
Cheap shot, I know
August 24th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
What’s typically been stirring interest has been the arrival of a new poster that is “about to move in the bay area.” Maybe we could have a “newcomer” day. It could read like this: “Hey I live in New Jersey and my wife just got hired by Google, I’m so excited! We’re going to rent with our five kids and twenty cats, any advice? And after two months we plan to buy, anywhere really as long as it’s a top school in a crime-free neighborhoods with lots of trees and two blocks from either downtown Menlo Park (one acre preferred) or, if not possible, a cubical house atop a hill overlooking a lake or two. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!”
August 24th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
cardinal, IMO there are plenty of vastly overpriced properties (shabbily built or with horrid taste) in the $2.5M-$4M range on the west side of 280. Just because the “ghettos” have crashed really doesn’t mean we’re out of material.
And I don’t think a beauty contest amongst frequent posters will increase new readership…
August 24th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
And I don’t think a beauty contest amongst frequent posters will increase new readership…
Anyone have a thing for hippies with a ponytail & Birkenstocks???
August 24th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
What can we do to get more people to comment on burbed?
—–
Burbed, people are posting comments here from millions miles away – as far as Austin, TX. How farther do you want? Siberia, Elbonia – where all the foreigners come from? Your expectation is too high (may be too far, in literal sense).
In case you want more diversity and versatility, all you need is some kind of real-estate/mortgage game in your site. You will see all the smart RBA families flocking here, including trophy wives and their bright kids who have seats allocated in Stanford University already by virtue of their RBA zipcodes.
August 24th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Another idea. Get all the real estate fraud cases from local courts and prosecutor’s offices and publish here. Get a toll-free number for help-line. You will find plenty of Jennifer Hu-s posting comments here, including those who have tax problem due to bad advices.
August 25th, 2009 at 10:24 am
I’ll try to answer seriously. I read Burbed frequently, I’ve sent folks I know are househunting or just following the market here with necessary warnings about the site’s problems. None have stayed.
There can be actual useful information trapped in the comments, usually about specific schools and neighborhoods. Sometimes its anecdotal, which is fine in context, but there are also folks providing real data and history if only to mock it.
Few newcomers stay because a troll has taken over your comments. This is, of course, the troll’s goal. I’ve never been able to quite decide if RE is really subtle trolling or a real person who is just remarkably unselfconscious about projecting his insecurities. It doesn’t matter, most of your comment traffic is either direct responses to RE or secondary references. While I’m sympathetic to their motivations (and done it myself on occasion), to the extent that the regular commenters feed the troll you’re losing any hope of new conversations. Early on there were at least actual counterarguments but by now the regulars have moved to shorthand and in-jokes.
Ban RE and any mention of RE. No more scare-quoted “useless aggregate data” jokes. He’ll be back, no doubt, but in the intervening time required for his new persona to build up notoriety you might have a real discussion.
Too harsh a solution for your taste? Ask questions that can’t be answered with PA house prices and moderate the off-topic replies. What’s the best $5/6/700,000 BA neighborhood or X square blocks?
Run out of those? Change the argument. Post for comments with specific outcomes and keep real score (a lewis could probably be convinced to keep the charts). Here’s are 5 MLS listings, predict the sales prices and DOM, we’ll check back the day its sale price posts. Delete posts that don’t use specific numbers _and_ dates, but incentivize scores as the only acceptable proof of “track records”. Your troll will either play along (and be better behaved) or get bored when every post is deleted.
August 25th, 2009 at 11:12 am
Axxel: Banning RE would also get rid of Pralay, which would improve the comments to no end. If RE is a troll, then Pralay is a feeder–and, frankly, I see more posts from Pralay than from RE. And RE doesn’t accuse new posters of being sockpuppets. And RE has a better grasp of geography (since when was Texas a million miles away from California?)
August 25th, 2009 at 11:23 am
And RE doesn’t accuse new posters of being sockpuppets.
—-
It’s all Burbed’s fault.
He reads too much into all the IP addresses.
August 25th, 2009 at 11:28 am
since when was Texas a million miles away from California?
—–
Oh, that’s a different mathematics that you won’t understand.
August 25th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Banning RE would also get rid of Pralay, which would improve the comments to no end.
—-
Whango Tango,
Pralay is already banned. A different Pralay who was posting from Austin, TX.
August 25th, 2009 at 11:43 am
And RE doesn’t accuse new posters of being sockpuppets.
—–
Factually incorrect.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
@Axxel
Thanks for the open and honest feedback. I’ll do my best to surface up key information from comments as new posts.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:18 pm
Looks like I’m not the only one who knows that banning RE would improve the site!
August 25th, 2009 at 12:24 pm
I’m not going to ban RE or Pralay – it’s the like the Ying/Yang thing. Or maybe the snake eating its tail thing.
But the one thing I will do is ask that people stop using excreter, realexcreter, and so forth.
I’m really not thrilled about seeing that on this site. In fact, I’ve added that to the list of not-good-words that WordPress filters for automatic rejection.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
But that’s exactly what he does – spews bullshit.
So, instead of solving the problem, you’re going to prevent people from discussing it? Way to perpetuate the ignoring of the elephant in the room. Reminds me of the days when nobody wanted to discuss how overpriced housing is…
Now, please excuse me while I pay $1,000,000 for a $350,000 home…
August 25th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
I didn’t say anything about preventing people from discussing prices, houses, etc.
On the other hand, I’ve long said that I frown upon the name calling that goes on around here. Heck, it even says that right above this comment box.
Let’s be civil, like role model Real Bay Area citizens.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
I think the issue here is that the basic theme of the blog is: ” Look- a realllly expensive house in a silicon valley city…. let’s poke fun of it!” I think this is a solid idea. Its a way for people- many whom are probably frustrated with the cost of homes- to make fun of an overly absurd situation.
But there’s only so much you can do with that. Short of making fun of the house there’s not much else to discuss, except for the chicken and egg commentary that when boiled down to its essence are people constantly discussing the cost of the primarily expensive housing market in the BA. People here are obsessed with it in a sort of unhealthy way and having a place for those to air their laundry about it is probably irresistible.
Perhaps a few simple things could be done to change things up, and perhaps attract more traffic. First of all, your posts are seldom opinionated. As such that means there’s little to comment on. I’ve been on this site for a few years and I have no clue what you actually think. A blog in some ways attracts like-minded people. Start revealing more about what goes on in your head and you instantly have more fodder to comment upon. So instead of posting a house and making sarcastic comments, perhaps make some opinions. A good example would be is an article came up about schools where Palo Alto parents pay money out of their pockets to keep the school open while the poor kids across the track are out of luck. Inject your opinion. Is that fair? What does that say about us or the people who live in such places?
Of course not everyone will agree. But then again, those people can choose to agree or disagree. That helps steer the blog into staying on-topic a bit more and it refines the character.
Anyhow, its not my blog. But that’s just my 2 cents.
August 25th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
that was a good post, bob
August 25th, 2009 at 1:03 pm
@bob
Wow… thanks for the suggestions!
August 25th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
isn’t a sarcastic comment akin to an opinion? For example, I wouldn’t make a snarky comment about a house I thought was a good buy. The opinion (e.g., it’s overpriced crap) is built in.
August 25th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Or maybe the snake eating its tail thing.
—–
Comparing “management class” guy with a reptile! Unacceptable. Reptiles don’t manage mega-project, you know.
August 25th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
But the one thing I will do is ask that people stop using ex-creter, realex-creter, and so forth.
—–
What about RealAmateur?
August 25th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
I think you’ve done a pretty good job of this in the past, but it is not the primary focus of front page posts, and that may be for the best. A snarky take on the latest MLS listing travesty is a big part of the site’s humor. But (as bob says) there’s only so much follow on possible, its natural the comments will drift to more general discussion. Once everyone agrees the featured house is terrible someone is always going to ask when its going to get better (or where it might already be better).
I think I understand your reasons, but to be clear, if you don’t take steps to control that aspect of the comments you’ll never have new conversations. Its less about the name-calling being offensive than it is just too much noise to wade through. Pralay’s crusade to keep RE honest is only amusing if you’ve followed the conversation a very long time indeed. Most newcomers won’t have that level of masochism.
RE wants attention, and if a ban isn’t an option you’ll need to find another way to cap the amount of content he’s allowed to dominate. I made a few suggestions, bob has made a few more, but ultimately you need the ratio of RE-related noise to drop substantially.
August 25th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
I’ve only been here a short time, but already don’t feel that motivated to participate. I barely said anything, and got handed some serious road rage. That’s a long way from the Bay Area spirit. It almost seems like some people are here mostly for the fighting. I don’t know if it’s a way to relieve the pressure of being unable to afford a home. What I do think is that people get turned off by the content-less posts and just move on. To fix the situation the wrong contents need to be shown the door instead. Burbed set some good rules, but it won’t help unless there’s enforcement. Some of you don’t like it, but that’s why we have a problem.
August 25th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
Actually Top Dog personally I mostly feel turned off by lesson givers – sorry to put you in the same basket as RE. IMO the generally civilized tone and ingenuous contributions can be credited to Burbed’s hands-off, non-opinionated, “nice guy” moderating style, and he’s right to keep it that way. RealEstater gets traction in the comments because there’s not much else going on and he exposes so many idiosyncrasies, that’s all – he’s the mascot you love to hate. If you post meaty, non-confrontative comments, you’ll be surprised about the general quality of the postings – IMO anyway.

I’d put you in the same trash bin as Pralay. A self-righteous S.O.B. is turned off by civilized tone. I hope you like the sound of this post better.
August 25th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
Top Dog – Hardly surprised by your tone in fact, Mr. Road Rage. Maybe you can tone down the insults or just go play with your trash bins elsewhere. Unless you want to stoop even lower with your next post?
August 25th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
This is how things degenerate. I came here with full intention for civilized exchange. You started with pretentious tone acting like you’re some kind of shit. Why don’t you drop the personal critiques and show us what you can contribute.
August 25th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Top Dog – http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHMB_enUS329US329&q=site:burbed.com+%2Bdreamt+%2B“santa+clara”&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

Ok, trying again, WordPress choked on the double quote: some past contributions
How about you?
August 25th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Top Dog asked:
“Why don’t you drop the personal critiques”
after stating:
“pretentious tone acting like you’re some kind of shit.”
That sir is called hypocrisy on your part. Especially since I didn’t make any claim about myself, I just happened to write something you didn’t like.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
I asked what you can contribute, not how many times you posted. By the way, you choked.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Oops, haven’t learn yet how to click on links at school?
Anyway, I’m out. Enjoy engaging the others, baby troll.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
More personal critiques about hypocrisy?
Correction: you just happened to be something I didn’t like.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
huh, did I miss the insult somewhere? Perhaps our new contributor misunderstood #84 (and it was all clearly downhill from there)?
Y’all can treat that as a rhetorical question. Don’t want to rekindle a flame war.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:22 pm
You noticed he called me a troll even on his way out?
August 25th, 2009 at 9:24 pm
> Correction: you just happened to be something I didn’t like.
Chill out, man.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
> If Bay Area sucks so much, why is everyone still here? It seems like this is the perfect place for someone who enjoys punishment.
I’ve been following burbed for a while and it looks like bob is the only one who thinks it sucks so much (but he’s quite happy staying to get his Silicon Valley salary). Everybody else seems to be pretty cool about the Bay Area, or left.
August 25th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
> [...] a cubical house atop a hill overlooking a lake or two. Any suggestions?
Once again, Herve Estater delivers. Or would you prefer this one?
August 25th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Those aren’t looking too cubical… but owning 1/11 of a lake would be very cool!
August 25th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
> Those aren’t looking too cubical…
I know, but do you have any idea how easy it is to find a house by a lake around here?!?
And you can always remodel or build your dream home, right?
August 25th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Top Dog – Hardly surprised by your tone in fact, Mr. Road Rage.
—–
LOL! That’s very interesting. Top Dot dislikes road rage. Then he starts one.
August 25th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Why don’t you drop the personal critiques and show us what you can contribute.
—–
Top Dog (AKA RealEstater),
You are claiming to be newcomer. Before asking others to “contribute”, how about you do it for once? So far your contibution is ZERO. And zero means zero – both as “Top Dog” name and “RealEstater” name.
Let me tell you why are in so much insulting tone (and “road rage”) in this thread. Because there are lots of bad things said about RealEstater in this thread. That offends you. It offends you because YOU ARE RealEstater.
You are too retarded to take a different name like “Top Dog” and act like a different person.
August 25th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
Haha Top Troll!
It looks like you’re well on your way to out trolling real estater.
August 26th, 2009 at 12:04 am
I think burbed should provide a dedicated thread exclusively for Top Dog and RealEstater. Nobody else allowed. That would be a most civilized thread ever. No road rage, no insulting. I guess the whole thread would look like:
RealEstater: Good News! Economy back on feet. Companies are hiring. Home price soaring in Disneyland, the happiest place on earth.
Top Dog: You are right, RE. Today while driving I noticed lots of “Sale-Pending” signs in my neighborhood.
RealEstater: Your observation is correct, Top Dog. Clowns and amateurs like Pralay just don’t get it.
Top Dog: I have been to some open houses last Sunday. All are packed. You know, in some of the openhouses they were issuing E-Ticket for entry – just like Disneyland. People were waiting on street with their e-tickets in hands – just to get into open houses. All of them are foreigners, holding sandbag size bags.
RealEstater: Your observation is correct, Top Dog. Those foreigners are buying their houses with cash. Those bags contain their cash, a lot of cash.
Top Dog: Your observation is more correct, RE.
RealEstater: Your observation is most correct, Top Dog.
Top Dog: Your observation is mostest correct, RE.
RealEstater: Your observation is mostestest correct, Top Dog.
….
….
….
[Happy conversation in happiest place on earth continues. No insulting. No road rage.]
August 26th, 2009 at 12:14 am
No thinking, no logic and no common sense.
Just like the way le exrementaire likes it.
August 26th, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Posts in this thread:
Pralay 27 (26%)
DreamT 17 (16%)
RealEstater 12 (11%)
burbed doesn’t have a comments section; it has a little sub-blog where Pralay and DreamT and RealEstater post back and forth.
August 26th, 2009 at 7:02 pm
Why revive a dead thread after 18 hours? Want to wow us with your counting skills?
August 26th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
He probably simply didn’t understand the “no baiting” rule.
WT – The best way to affect comments dynamics is to contribute interesting comments of your own, rather than whine about others.
August 26th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
> Want to wow us with your counting skills?
Don’t get too excited: he only got one number right.
August 26th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Don’t get too excited: he only got one number right.
—-
Wrong. It’s the very same counting system that gets millions parts in a car. Just because you don’t know it, that does not mean that it is not right.
August 26th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Is there any wonder why new people don’t join Burbed? This thread is getting more stupid by the minute. Nomadic is right. Let it rest in peace.
August 26th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
Is there any wonder why new people don’t join Burbed?
——-
Tops Dog makes a perfect example of personhood’s self-cancellation by Henry Flynt.
If Top Dog is one of those “new people”, why is he spending time here?
August 26th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
“This thread is getting more stupid ”
Chill out, (wo)man. Spit your contempt elsewhere and stop attacking people.
August 26th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
Mr. DreamT, is it your opinion that this thread is going in the right direction? Pardon the frankness, but you and the two guys listed in #106 are a large part of the problem here. My vote would be to put you all in a sandbox area where you can post all the junk you want, and ban you guys from the standard threads.
August 26th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
That’s a great suggestion, Top Dog!
Unlike my legitimate and well thought out suggestion to ban real estater, yours is much better.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:10 am
Thanks, anon. The idea is to create a zone where the thugs can shoot it out in their hood.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:18 am
LOL! Top Dog is trying very hard not to sound like RealEstater. And that makes him sound more retarded.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Top Dog: Why do you care which direction old threads go? Your posts #91 and #93 were pure trash. If you want to continue your disruptive RealEstater-style request for harsher moderation, kindly stop posting here and e-mail [email protected], like everybody else.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:21 am
Yeah, no problem. I think the 4 of us will have lots of fun in there…
August 27th, 2009 at 12:21 am
but you and the two guys listed in #106 are a large part of the problem here.
—-
Top Dog,
I don’t have problem, but think about yourself. How would you give “Good News”?
August 27th, 2009 at 12:23 am
“I think the 4 of us”
Lol. Anon 1, RealEstater 0.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:23 am
If you want to continue your disruptive RealEstater-style request for harsher moderation, kindly stop posting here and e-mail [email protected], like everybody else.

I guess average tech guy is yet to learn emailing.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:28 am
DreamT: We were talking about ways to improve the conditions here so more people would be inclined to participate.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:31 am
We were talking about ways to improve the conditions here so more people would be inclined to participate.
——
Sounds good. These are tasks for you:
1. Learn emailing.
2. Send suggestions to [email protected]
August 27th, 2009 at 12:35 am
I don’t have problem, but think about yourself.
Pralay: Just so that you know, usually gangsters don’t think they have a problem. It’s the other people in the neighborhood who have a problem.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:39 am
Try emulating steve, nomadic, Herve, madhaus, Alex, sonarrat, cardinal2007, WillowGlenner… heck even BuyersAreIdiots or anon, despite their in-your-face approach.
Frankly there’s only one garbage poster on this site. It’s the one that can’t help but post gratuitous, unsubstantiated attacks on others. Everybody else is more than decent.
Oh and BTW Burbed requested that you switch to a new IP.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:40 am
Pralay: As a matter of fact, I will take up your suggestion to email Burbed. I also have a few suggestions for you that I’d like to take offline (as requested by your buddy DreamT in #118). What email address can I reach you at?
August 27th, 2009 at 12:40 am
Pralay: Just so that you know, usually gangsters don’t think they have a problem. It’s the other people in the neighborhood who have a problem.
——
That’s right. Clearly manifested in #83 by Top Dog.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:41 am
By the way we haven’t heard about your or your wife’s bonus yet this year. How did that go?
August 27th, 2009 at 12:47 am
What email address can I reach you at?
—–
Average tech guy should know the protocol. Here it goes:
1. Learn emailing.
2. In email ask burbed to forward your email address to me, along with a message. He knows both your and my email addresses. If your message is satisfactory to me, I will email you directly.
More you try to sound nice, more you sound retarded.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:49 am
By the way we haven’t heard about your or your wife’s bonus yet this year. How did that go?
—–
I guess this year he and his wife is getting record bonus. As a result he is going to have same AMT problem in tax return.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:52 am
DreamT: My work is none of your business. I’ve said all that needed to be said and I’m leaving.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:54 am
Oh and BTW Burbed requested that you switch to a new IP.
——-
LOL! I thought only Pralay and anon have this IP problem.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:54 am
unfortunately…. HE’LL BE BACK!
August 27th, 2009 at 12:55 am
I’ve said all that needed to be said and I’m leaving.
—–
Don’t forget to comeback tomorrow. We are missing all the “Good News” a lot.
August 27th, 2009 at 1:06 am
unfortunately…. HE’LL BE BACK!
—–
I think he just went back to change his IP (Inter-Personality) with RealEstater.
