fwiw, new refional planning data:
OAKLAND — The Bay Area will need to find room to build more than 635,000 homes in the next 25 years to accommodate an added 1.7 million people, a regional agency said Friday.
As more people enter the region, opportunities are dwindling to effectively plan for the growth in a way that reduces traffic, energy costs and environmental damage, said planners with the Association of Bay Area Governments.
“It’s rethinking how we travel, rethinking how we live,” planner Christy Riviere said. “It’s a whole slew of things we have to consider.”
San Jose will lead the pack with an estimated 412,200 more people by 2035, followed by San Francisco with 159,000 and Oakland with 141,100.
The planners forecast that Santa Clara County, already the most populous, will grow by 33 percent, Alameda County by 27 percent, San Mateo County by 22 percent and Contra Costa by 21 percent.

Steve: Better grab your spot before the crowd gets here. New housing in Silicon Valley will likely have to be condos or high rises. By then we’ll have high speed rail, so maybe it won’t matter how far away we live.

It’s ok, all the newcomers will bunker up 1 person every 200 sqft and pay $8,000 a month for epa homes.

lebowski – my oldest sister had a red one for her first car. It had a snazzy (snicker) vinyl top. Remember those? We had a Comet too. I had forgotten about those ancient cars.

In 25 years, I can look forward to retirement life with zero mortgage payment, prop 13 benefits, and millions of dollars in equity (yes, millions of). The more people come to the Bay Area, the merrier. There’d be people saying, “25 years ago, houses were cheap”.

lol you’re in for a major disappointment buddy
August 30th, 2009 at 1:01 am
in the mean time enjoy the rat race.
August 30th, 2009 at 2:12 am
No mention of a happy family or friends in retirement.
Not surprising.
As an asshole, money is all that you’ve got to live for.
A sad miserable life indeed.

Mike,
I already talked about family in a separate thread. As you can see, I’m a strong advocate for family life.

You show your true colors time and time again…
August 30th, 2009 at 10:42 am
Can you get a clue, anon? The path I’m on will get me out of the rat race. Rentards, however, will have never ending payments.

Poor RealEstater! All he wanted to do here (in internet) is to establish himself as successful guy who does not have worry about his future (and his kids).
Guys, it’s time we should start pretending that we believe him. We want him to be happy – at least in his internet life.

Just based on watching past few exchanges over here, I’d say Real Estater (RE) has a point of view, but Pralay is the trouble maker. In the above example, RE said he can be done with mortgage in 25 years, which is pretty reasonable assuming a 30 year fixed mortgage. Then, the crap started with Pralay talking trash. RE will probably fight back next, and the whole thread will turns into trash. Finally, other people will take sides and things get worse. Burbed needs to stop these fights at the source. I would recommend immediately delete posts #14 and #15, and issue a warning.
Pralay: Don’t bother responding.
August 30th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Top Dog,
I might add that there are people here who will support Pralay’s fighting due to their views about the housing market. The same people will complain about the fighting when a response is given to Pralay. This is why things get tangled up here. You make a good point about stopping the troubles at the source. I’d support that since I don’t like the situation either.

Top tard, the thread became trash the second re started posting in it.

LOL! Top Dog and RealEstater’s conversation is goind according to the script.
BTW Top Dog, did you get a new IP address?

Looks like Top Dog is actually Rescue-Dog for RealEstater.
He can even figure it out what’s in RealEstater’s mind and when he bought home.

Of course, he would trash a thread. Because he is yet to learn emailing.

Top Dog AKA RealEstater,
There is no “fight” here. In #14 and #15, I just made fun of your comment #13, which you posted with “RealEstater” name. Making fun of something is perfectly in line with the theme of this blog – especially making fun of someone who just can’t stop bragging about his stuffs. In case you have any doubt, learn how do email and email at burbed@burbed.com.
I know #14 and #15 offends you, but you deserved it anyway (because of your #13).

Pralay: You can believe what you want. I’m only here to comment on your instigations, which should be apparent to anyone who visits the site.

My dad had a Maverick, but by golly, I’m thinking of starting a Maverick and Comet Tennis club. This could really show the true class and high life we all enjoy in the BA.
