Thanks to Burbed reader mike w for this find.
Mike thought that the proper description for this house should be:
Contractor’s special.
Perfect for investor or first time home buyer .
Needs a little TLC.
Heh.
Personally, I when I saw this house, I thought… “Who lives here? Saddam Hussein? Saddam Hussein of Milpitas?”
Let’s face it, all the time people are looking for the unique house… Just think, you could live like a dictator… in Milpitas! Just think of all the weapons of mass destruction you can pretend to own and hide in the house. And remember, this is not a short sale and not an REO.
Personally, the first thing I’d do with this house is replace the carousel style morning room with an actual carousel. How awesome would that be? There’d be a line of people waiting to check it out. And you know what that kind of scarcity means – that’s right! Cha-ching!
So go buy this house. Heck, don’t even finish it all at once. Keep at it. Eventually, this could be called the Gaudi of Milpitas!

yes, it’s gaudy all right…
What genius thought this was a good idea? Originally listed at $7.5M for a half-built project – in Milpitas? REALLY?
But seriously, do you suppose this property is above the “smell zone?”

BTW, nice Gaudi/gaudy reference!

I wouldn’t pay $5.5 million for all of Milpitas. Just driving through the town is disgusting.

Is that price for the entire town?
Possibly the Worst Place on Earth outside of Chernobyl. A slum so foul it shouldn’t even be on maps.
If I were the fire insurance company, I would post a 24/7 guard around this POS before Burnupski or Blazenheimer visit in the dead of night…

(sorry for the almost double post up there) Slow & unreliable wifi at SJC airport. It’s waaaaay better in PHX. Guess Silicon Valley isn’t #1 for technology after all…

Oh come on, Milpitas is not that bad.. I lived there for a year and I’ve never felt safer, because it was the most boring city I’ve ever seen. Absolutely devoid of any character whatsoever, but totally safe.

5.5 million for an unfinished house? you can buy an island with this kind of money.

“5.5 million for an unfinished house? you can buy an island with this kind of money.”
Ahhh, but it’s different here…even in Milpitas.

Palace made of Italian marble. Does it ring any bell? Here goes the clue.
Not Saddam Hussein. This place is actually for Queen Victoria. And this is the website for the Real Estate Empire of Her Imperial Highness.

But it’s got marble columns, of course it’s worth $5.5 million.

Why is everybody complaining? $5.5M in Los Altos Hills only gets you 6,600 sq ft on 2 acres. Milpitas has much better value. And marble columns.

This gem is down to a low, low $3.9 million now. Someone steal it before the seller realizes his/her mistake and puts the price back up at $5.5 million.
