Wowsers. Atherton Size, Quality and Luxury at a Redwood City price. This house is an amazing find! Sure you’d be living on a slightly busy street, but that’s a benefit as all the people driving by will wonder what company you founded, and how smart you were for buying an Atherton-like house in Redwood City thus saving you a bundle.
This is totally a Black Friday Sale!
I love how there are 7 or 8.5 bathrooms, and 5 wet bars. And this:
I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe this house is best suited for someone with a more single lifestyle. Think about what an awesome bachelor’s pad this could be.
If you’re entrepreneurial, maybe you could even get this house to be a location for a new season of The Girls Next Door. But first. you probably need to find some girls….

5 wet bars?!? You don’t want to need to walk to another room to fix yourself another drink. What if you’re so drunk that you can’t walk to another room? It’s perfect that a wet bar is already in reach. I wonder if it’s on the market because the previous owner died of alcohol poisoning?

You could do some major processing and packaging of bulk drugs here, instead of wet bars think lab sinks. It looks ideal for a place to have a lot of workers working and living in parallel, good setup at the front for security too.

Always buy the best house in a bad neighborhood.
That’s the maxim, right?
November 28th, 2009 at 11:36 am
No no, you want to buy the worst house in the neighborhood because that is the one that will appreciate. At least, that’s what the morons who peddle real estate would have you believe.

Lol – “Firefighters, doctors, and nurses are seen as prestigious occupations by U.S. adults, while business executives, stockbrokers and real estate agents are seen at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to having prestigious occupations.”

lawyers are nearly as bad as real estate agents, nomadic

check out this article about a lawyer’s advice regarding walking away:

Can you believe it? Advocating walking away even though its morally wrong to stop paying rent to the bank!
November 29th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Can we believe what? That a lawyer would offer “morally wrong” advice that is still legal? LOL. Their job is to keep people on the “right” side of the law only.
To me there are only shades of difference between that and any other “socially responsible” activity. For example, driving a gas-guzzler when you don’t need it for carpools or transporting stuff. Or my annoying neighbors who dump so much water on their lawn every summer, there is a creek continually running down my gutter. It’s wet constantly and grows furry, slippery algae.

How is it immoral to walk away from a mortgage? It’s a business transaction. Nothing less, nothing more. The borrower walking away from the mortgage is a business risk the lender assumes when they make the loan, a risk they are being compensated for and presumably have expertise in assessing prior to underwriting the loan. No reason to feel sorry for lenders that made asinine decisions during the bubble years.
