It’s Day 1 of our “Bay Area versus New York: Which suburbs are more expensive?” smackdown. To be fair, we’ll only look at reasonable houses: $1-$1.5 million.

Excellent Eichler set on 6930 SF lot(buyer to verify SF). Boasts of open light-filled flrpln & high beamed ceilings w/ clean lines. Updated kitchen w/ Sub-Zero Refridgerator & LR w/ FP & walls of glass to backyard. Newly remodeled bathrooms with Corian countertops. New paint, new carpet & custom closets in 3 of the 4 BRs. Secluded master suite w/ direct access to yard. Beautiful deck for entertaining.

Not too shabby. A nice affordable price. New carpet in 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Square footage sort of unknown. Lots of privacy too! Look you can’t even see the house!

Overall, an A++++ house in a great school district. A sure winner. Tomorrow, we’ll look at a house in New York in comparison… stay tuned!

Wow. $1.3M and you get a galley kitchen with dated oak cabinets and a nasty vinyl floor in a few rooms.

  2. Hellboy Says:

The house looks like it was a rental… I wonder how much they rented it for?

The guy who mows my lawn lives in a nicer house.

You could buy the place, have a $9,500/month mortgage, rent it for $3,000. After you throw in an additional $6,500/month, you can have the satisfaction of seeing your mortgage balance drop $1,000/month. Sweet deal.

All the ambiance of a dump in Santa Clara, but in Palo Alto!

Excellent example of a Snout House, fails the trick-or-treat test (visitors can’t find the front door, which is the point because you don’t want visitors, only cars live here).

But at least you will be living with execs. When donkey lives in horse-stable, it looks like real horse (probably it runs like real horse too).

And conveniently located near 101, for quick access to the freeway!!

    Boring.
