Move in 60 days! Located on Los Altos side of El Camino and walking distance to downtown Mountain View. Miramonte Park is an exclusive collection of 58 single family detached homes with all the charm of the great CA neighborhoods of the 20′s and 30′s. Great neighborhood, outstanding schools, and parks.

Hm… I hadn’t realized that in the 1920’s and 1930’s, that houses were built edge to edge, with giant slopes, with metal gates, and without yards in California. But then again, I’m no history buff – so who am I to say. Oh wait, it’s a description about the neighborhood! Oh that makes sense:

Uh… yeah… charm is definitely a word in the dictionary.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and guess that getting Direct TV installed may be a bit of a challenge. But hey, if you can afford this house, you can probably Comcast!

I think the 20′s and 30′s comments were referring to the amazing art-deco windows and banister figures.

    Wait, never mind….

Plus according to Herve it’s appreciating!–kind of slowly for the RBA, but Mountain View has never been RBA, not even in the 20′s and 30′s.

  3. Herve Estater Says:

    > Plus according to Herve it’s appreciating!

    Huh? :-)

  4. nomadic Says:

I think galileo read the dates backward. Bottom up is kind of odd if you’re not used to Redfin.

  5. Joe Says:

Nice architecture, if it snowed in the bay area.

  6. SmilingCat Says:

I think the 1930s refers to the 1930s type Depression we’re in the beginning of, and how the banksters will foreclose you out of this beauty just like happened to your grandparents or great-grandparents.

  7. gallileo Says:

My mistake on reading the dates backwards, so let me rephrase:

Plus, according to Herve, the instant equity is soaring!

  8. Casey!S Says:

Well, only in the RBA/semi-RBA will you find a 2k sf house on a 4k sf lot for more than $1.2M!

  9. nomadic Says:

This development is a repeat, as Herve pointed out. I think we need our favorite new development repeated: Gables End. For anyone who drives by that part of 101 regularly – is there anything new (like more fictitious sold signs) going on?

It’s been awhile since burbed checked in on that one.

  10. Pralay Says:

is there anything new (like more fictitious sold signs) going on?
    —-

Yes, the new sign says “60% of new units sold”. Keep in mind that last year there were only four left. Now 40% left. Real Estate Math.

  11. nomadic Says:

Maybe there are only 10 units in the current phase?

  12. Coco Says:

Maybe, they were meant to be 2020′s and 2030′s.

  13. kareninca Says:

This place looks like one of those hideous Protestant churches that were built in the 70s.

p.s. my background, so I get to say so

  14. lookout Says:

Ah yes, the charming Tudor Revival architecture of the twenties and thirties, when attaching a two car garage adjacent the front door (as opposed to building a detached structure at the back of the property) was all the rage. Seekers of historical designs must also appreciate the high-end slab-on-grade construction and lack of even a partial basement.

  15. bob Says:

This thing is fugly and it looks like just about like any other mass-produced, stamped out cookie cutter wonder you’d find just about anywhere else for $150k

  16. hhmm Says:

yeah! bob is back!!….thought he moved…

  17. nomadic Says:

bob move? Not until pigs fly.

  18. bob Says:

Bob will let you know when the time comes. I’ve learned my lesson not to reveal plans on this site. One day it will just happen and I can sit back and laugh at what a silly experience it was living in hell-hole bay area.

  19. Herve Estater Says:

    > I’ve learned my lesson not to reveal plans on this site.

I found it quite entertaining: you building the hype with all your talks of moving to Texas, excitement reaching its climax with your job offer… and then you accept another offer in the Bay Area and stay here.

    I salute you.

  20. nomadic Says:

Sure beats RE’s boring stories of being outbid on properties every weekend.

  21. Pralay Says:

Sure beats RE’s boring stories of being outbid on properties every weekend.
    —-

Actually, that’s RE’s alter ego SV Shopper (his losing bid 1, losing bid 2, losing bid 3….so on). I am surprised that he did not show up last weekend to tell us that he lost another bid. Probably, The Big-On-Education Wife grounded him for losing too many bids. Poor guy!

  22. Herve Estater Says:

    You mean SV Shopper, right?

  23. Pralay Says:

To be fair, RE told us other stories too and those are not boring. For example, Crying Austin Man.

  24. nomadic Says:

Whatever, guys. I was actually thinking of the time he decided not to put in an offer because the realtor told him there were already multiple offers over $1M but then it sold for less than that.

“Crying Austin man” was hilarious! A “best of” moment.

  25. Herve Estater Says:

I remember the story… The house sold for $980K.

  26. nomadic Says:

You’re so kind to include the folks following along at home. :-P

  27. bob Says:

Yes… again I’ve learned that being a tad too honest on here has a price. Everything I mentioned did in fact happen. Moral of the story: Tell the story when it happens or after the fact. Its probably more devastatingly dramatic anyway. One day I’ll just be like: ” Well, I moved to Austin” and you all can gasp with disbelief.

  28. Herve Estater Says:

    > One day I’ll just be like: ” Well, I moved to Austin” and you all can gasp with disbelief.

I think Real Estater will move to Texas before you do.
