Teens jumped in ‘gang-related’ attack

Teens jumped in ‘gang-related’ attack

Mountain View Voice Staff

Three teenagers were jumped by a group of about six men wielding weapons outside a convenience store near the border of Los Altos and Mountain View on Saturday night, June 26, a police spokeswoman said.
The victims, a 15-year-old from Stockton, an 18-year-old from Santa Clara and a 19-year-old from Sunnyvale — all male — told police they were confronted shortly before 10 p.m. as they left a 7-Eleven in the 600 block of South Rengstorff Avenue, between El Camino Real and Latham Street, said Liz Wylie, public information officer for the Mountain View Police Department.

The victims, who gave slightly different accounts, said about six men, ranging in age from 20 to 30, jumped them and that some of the assailants were armed with what Wylie described as "a brick like object," as well as a sharp object — perhaps a pen or a screwdriver — but not a knife.

The suspects remain at large.

All three victims had injuries, but declined offers of transportation to the hospital, Wylie said. The 15-year-old had welts and lumps on head and face and three small puncture wounds on shoulder and back; the 18-year-old only had complaints of head pain, and 19-year-old had puncture wounds on arm.

Before attacking the three teens, the men said "gang-related" things Wylie said. She declined to elaborate on what may have been said, but added that police have a few "very significant leads" in the case. At this time, she said, police believe the attackers to be a part of a gang, but are not sure whether the victims are in a gang; they indicated that they were not, she said. A Mountain View gang-suppression team is working on the case.

A public service announcement. Be safe out there!

In Silicon Valley, House Dreams You!

Remember Hazelwood Avenue in Campbell?  Somebody’s been dreaming about it!

1133 Hazelwood Ave, Campbell, CA 95008

Plans for a 4400 square foot house!  That would be great, if only somebody wanted a ginormous house in Campbell.

Most dream houses are built in a more Real Bay Area location, either close to something important and expensive (Stanford University, Foothills Park, Sunnyvale Fry’s) or far away from everybody else.  The plans might be approved, but this may not be the best place for them.  So for now, let’s see what’s actually at 1133 Hazelwood instead of potentially, where potentially means after you pay buckets of money to contractors who won’t show up.

Rather than a 4400 sf house of the sellers’ unfulfilled dreams, this is what you get for $425,000:

Awww, it’s too shy to come out and pose!  This little wallflower was still the house of somebody’s dreams, when they listed this place for $890K.  Yes, I said $890,000.  In 2008.  And it was the house of the current sellers’ dreams when they got $140K of instant equity by paying $750K for it, 3 months later.  Now it can be the house of your dreams for $425K, which includes $465K of instant equity.  Wow! That’s more than the house is selling for!  That means this house is better than FREE! Plus it includes the APPROVED plans for the house of the seller’s dreams!  Guess the seller woke up, smelled the coffee, and said “Oh my god I live here!”

One advantage of a two-story house is you get to spy on your neighbors’ yards!  Let’s take an advance peek at the great views you’ll have if you build the house of someone else’s dreams.

Oooh, wonder what’s going on with those neighbors on the right!  They look like some fun folks!  Let’s meet them!

Hey, what do you want for $425,000?  Remember yesterday’s house?  Location, location, location: $600K teardown less than a block from a freeway?  That is not a problem with today’s featured property!  No freeways in any direction for miles!  Nothing but… lots and lots of other houses.

And it’s a pretty safe bet that most of the others cost way more than $425,000!  At least they will if you all keep dreaming! Nighty-night!

Are You a Visionary Buyer? Then Visualize This!

Any real estate site, including this one, can profile high-end properties.  They’re nice to look at, have plenty of goodies to ogle, and there’s so much to say about them.  But what makes burbed stand apart from other sites is that we’re not afraid to feature houses that could fall over if someone knocked on the front door.  Silicon Valley is amazing.  They may not be making any more land, but there will always be more crapboxes that will run you over half a million dollars.

Contractor special! Great location by La Rinconada Golf Course. List price reflects condition of home. Home is in poor condition – sold "as is" only. Property has good potential – visionary Buyer can see a diamond in the rough.

Let’s have a good look at this diamond again.  Don’t be fooled by the high-priced Los Gatos address;  this gem has Campbell schools.  Guess that’s part of the “rough” the diamond is in.  Too bad the listing agent only provided one photo, so here’s what the Googlecam found on a very sunny day shooting for shady conditions.

The agent told the truth about one thing: the landscaping is also “in the rough.”  But take a closer look!  You get extra firewood all around the property line, and maybe if you ask really nicely you can buy the watercraft at in insider’s price.  I hope this isn’t what the listing meant by “RV/Boat parking.”

And you know if you ask a real estate professional what makes a house Special, they always answer “Location, Location, Location?”  Check it out!

Sure, it’s close to the golf course, but they left out the part about the condos next door.  And the apartment complex next to the condos.  And why would they omit the ever-popular “convenient to freeway”?  As a visionary Buyer, you’re expected to do all the seeing.

This must be a very patriotic neighborhood, because of the flag lots.  Make your offer before the Fourth of July!
