Beautifully updated home in very desirable neighborhood. Many upgrades throughout. Forced air heating, central air conditioning, recently installed tile floors, windows, kitchen, baths, roof, electrical (200 amp service), you name it, it’s been done. Excellent location provides easy access to wonderful shopping, transportation, schools and leisure. In ground pool recently re-done and is beautiful.

More than anything else, I’m impressed with the photos that are attached to this listing. Let’s take a look!

The lead off photo:

Proof that this house exists near an intersection. Hey, that’s convenience. I just hate it when you buy
a house and it turns out it’s not near an intersection of any sort.

Look! A street! And it’s paved! That’s the sign of excellence! (although it’s a little strange how the right side of the street in this photo seems to be wet the entire distance. Huh?

Look! Buying this house even gives you rights to go to the prestigious and exclusive El Paseo de Saratoga and Westgate clubs!

Wow. Wow. Wow!

This house is definitely packed with value – and 200 amp service.

Real hardwood, large kitchen, new carpet and paint throughout, huge rear yard. A real Gem!

Thanks to Burbed reader Joe for this find!

First, let’s enjoy the listing photos, which appear to be taken from another website. Classy!

Next, let’s take a gander at the fine location of this house:

What? No mention of the great views of 580?

But the reason why Joe brought this up, and why I’m hoping all the forensic accountants can step up and help us out here is this:

Any idea
what happened here?

Copied from an Oceanfront house in La Jolla, CA

Here’s another great find from Burbed reader sonarrat.  Imagine, this house just like living in toney La Jolla, CA, only it’s actually in Alum Rock so you’ll save a couple hundred bucks.  Plus your commute to Facebook is much, much shorter.

52 N White Rd, San Jose, CA 95127

Super Location/Near James Lick HS, Alum Rock Library . .. Remodeled!Light Peach and Green Mediterranean Style Home, Copied from an Oceanfront house in La Jolla, CA call listing Agent to show. .Tenant Occupied. Best Offer will be considered

Here’s what sonarrat has to say about this house: “I just.. uh… what the f—????”

What the fail indeed!  I’m just glad the agent told us it’s a Light Peach and Green Mediterranean Style Home, because from the photo I thought it was a cream and crud crapbox.  Now let’s check out that Super Location!

“Near James Lick HS?”  James Lick HS’s address is 57 N White Rd.  So this is kind of like how Red Rock Island is “near” SF Bay.  Don’t plan on leaving the house when school starts, ends, or has any sporting events.  According to greatschools.com, their big sport is badminton.

Now let’s get a few more views of the house since the Realtard didn’t want to get out of her car.

Okay, I see the Green, but that still doesn’t look like Light Peach, unless she’s talking about the roof.  And my, my, look at those, um, bold, yes, bold power lines in front.

Plus a pickup truck around the corner!  What’s that classic 70s muscle car parked at the fence break?

Oh, please say the garage is included!  It matches the paint job, and you’ll make loads of money towing the neighbors’ cars when they block it.

And don’t worry if it isn’t your garage, it looks like your next-door neighbor can rent you a parking space.  Wow, this really is just like living at the beach in La Jolla!

A Pink (sort of) House for Valentine’s Day <3

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Have you figured out what to get your sweetie to celebrate?  Chocolates?  Flowers?  Fruit basket?  Don’t think so small.  How about a pink house!  What, you can’t find any?  Well, how about an almost-pink house?

11031 Clayton Rd, San Jose, CA 95127

BATHS: 1.5
SQ. FT.: 1,125
$/SQ. FT.: $440

Nice home with a pool. Traditional Sale. Contractor’s Special. Two properties for sale with two separate parcel numbers, no need to subdivide. Combined lot size is 16,898 sq ft. Both lots to be sold together and must close escrow concurrently. This is a great opportunity. Easy to show.

Nothing like a Traditional Sale for a traditional holiday, and what could be more traditional than listing two properties separately and telling the buyer they must buy them as a package deal?  What’s even better is the property next door isn’t even listed.  Too bad they won’t sell you the big one next to that with the scrumptious parking lot.  Looks like you’d have room for about 80 vehicles.

But until you’re ready to buy your true love 12 Lamborghinis launching, 11 Audis accelerating into your 10 Pintos punctured… etc. why not just start with the house itself?  It might not be painted pink, but these photos are trying their best!

Either the photographer was wearing rose-colored glasses, or that’s some really old film.  And nothing is more romantic than an old movie.  So buy this home and you can star in your own romantic comedy.  How about Pacific Heights?

Big Spenders Buoy Housing

Big Spenders Buoy Housing

The U.S. housing market may be weak, but many big spenders are still lavishing money on luxury homes in the Bay Area.

Homes selling for more than $2 million spiked in 2010 in the Bay Area, with the most pricey home sold in San Francisco for $15.5 million. Pui-Wing Tam talks with Stacey Delo.

Across the nine-county region, sales of homes priced at $2 million or more soared in 2010 over 2009, according to a preliminary analysis by DataQuick Information Systems. The number of such sales reached 1,216 last year, up nearly 20% from 1,016 in 2009, said DataQuick. While that was still far below the levels of 2005 through 2008, when more than 1,500 such sales a year took place, it was also far stronger than in the early part of the decade when less than 1,000 such sales a year occurred.

And the numbers might be even higher than indicated. DataQuick, which culls its data from public records, said its numbers don’t include the last week of 2010 and might not show all transactions priced above $2 million because some super high-end deals don’t show up in the public record for long periods.

The strength of high-end Bay Area home sales last year underlines the region’s recovery and how wealth here was relatively unaffected, compared with other parts of the nation. Indeed, over the past year, many technology companies have come roaring back, start-ups have started popping up all over Silicon Valley and San Francisco, and hiring wars have broken out.

Congrats to the Bay Area for having such an amazing economy! I knew we would be back! We’ve done it!

We’re on our way to beating London, Moscow, Hong Kong, and our arch nemesis, Manhattan!

We cannot rest until every property, even a condo in East Palo Alto, starts at $1M.

Together, we can do it!

The Right to Keep Your ZIP Code to Yourself

The California Supreme Court says you can.

Stores Can’t Ask For Customer ZIP Codes: CA Supreme Court

By Scott Weber, NBCBayArea.com
updated 2/10/2011 6:45:30 PM ET

Customers who use their credit cards at stores can no longer be asked for their ZIP code, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday.

In a unanimous decision, the state’s high court concluded that person’s personal information includes his or her ZIP code and that California’s Credit Card Act prohibits a merchant from asking for it.

The class-action case was brought by Jessica Pineda against Williams-Sonoma.

Wait, who shops at Williams-Sonoma who doesn’t want to brag about their ZIP code?  Well, maybe the people who had to trade down to less exclusive environs better suited to Crate and Barrel, or Target.  Maybe they can’t afford 94024 anymore, but they can still buy a $40 bottle of olive oil.

imageMy god, the woman who sued Williams-Sonoma was incensed that they were using her ZIP Code “for marketing purposes.”  Oh noes!  Next thing you know, they will want her name so they can send her an unsolicited catalog.

Well, now you can buy that olive oil without having to admit you live in 95008 (Campbell), or fearing you’ll be put on the Pottery Barn mailing list instead of Frette, due to your ZIP code. You have the right to not disclose it, so either wear it proudly or keep it to yourself.

Of course if you keep it to yourself, others will assume you live in 95002.

Thanks to Burbed reader sonarrat for this find!

Wow. What a deal! Just $84 per square foot! And it’s from 1906! That means its historic!

Yeah, it has a little fire damage – but how much could it cost to fix this?

Any takers?

This highly desirable Cherry Chase neighborhood is a perfect home in which to create a lifetime of memories. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances It opens to a beautiful living room, making it perfect for entertaining guests, or simply spending quality time with family. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet and a remodeled bathroom. Dual paned windows.

So why is this a great house for the organized twentysomething?  Let’s take a little tour, shall we?  You shouldn’t have any trouble figuring out where in the house you are.

This house goes great with this magazine!

Here’s what nomadic had to say about this amazing place:

Sure, it shares a street name with the Munsters, but check out those rooms painted in primary colors.  Do you suppose the pwners trying for a short sale were too lazy to repaint, or are they hoping to live there free for several more months?  Nope, they’re using the loud colors to drown out the sound of Highway 85 less than 200’ away.

Ok, let’s see that E-Z freeway access.

Awesome!  The next-door neighbors have a swimming pool!  Guess where you’ll be dropping by every day this summer!  Plus think of all the money you’ll save not having to join a swim club!

Lot clear and ready to build! List price reflects home being built by owner/builder as approved by the city. Permits in place. Plans for a gorgeous mediterranean-style home with great room concept, large gourmet kitchen with island, ground floor bedroom & bath, spacious master suite w/ balcony, 2 car garage & much more!

Thanks to Burbed reader LB for this find!

Just like how this is going to be the year for IPOs and mega millions in the Real Bay Area, this being-built house can also provide a roller coaster ride of riches.

Check it out! They took a $674,000 plot of land, and with some investment (let’s assume $200 per square foot) turned it into an amazing investment for themselves.

What kind of investment will this turn out to be for you? Will it triple? Will it quadruple? Or will it merely double?

It’s just like buying an IPO stock, but with guaranteed upside because it is in the Real Bay Area. Awesome! A sure win!
