This is a classic! Nice lot, great potential. View of Foothill Park and located on Los Trancos Creek. A magical setting! Great PV Schools and neighborhood. Spacious home with a family room off the Kitchen. LR with FP. Large lot! Lots of extra room on the lower level would be great for a utility room, workshop, extra bedroom? Make sure you see the lower level. DO NOT GO ON DECK. .. DO NOT GO ON DECK

Thanks to Burbed reader Herve for this find!
Herve was wondering this:
If the deck can collapse, why would I want to see the lower level?

I don’t think it says anywhere that the deck is going to collapse. I think that’s an assumption. And you know what happens when you assume: you make real estate prices fall.

Rather, I think the agent is trying to prevent you from developing TMJ… you know from when you jaw drops from standing on the deck and at the stunning view. It’s for liability reasons… I’m sure you can understand.

Oh, and by the way – this house comes with great private schools. You won’t be able to find private schools like that anywhere else!

What should a buyer expect for 3/4 million? Being able to walk on the deck? Nope.

  2. sonarrat Says:

Under a million for Portola Valley? Oh how the mighty have fallen.

  3. sfbubblebuyer Says:

This backs against the Palo Alto Foothills Park, which is kind of a nice feature. If you fall off the deck, you won’t have to worry about rolling into somebody else’s house getting in your way as you roll, roll, roll, roll down the hill.

Damned guest columnists make me put in the tags, grrrr. At least San Matean will be happy today.

#2, yeah this is almost 4/10 an acre, for this price very little of it would be usable.

Check out the maps, it looks like the place is built about 10 inches from the neighbor’s house. These two houses in the woods on big lots are far closer together than the pair in El Cerrito on Monday. That’s probably the reason the price is under a mil, that’s a defect nothing short of rebuilding on a new siting can fix.

Ahahaha, it was listed for $249K and went pending a week later. Then it was relisted a month later. What could have happened? DID SOMEONE GO ON THE DECK?

  5. sfbubblebuyer Says:

The 249 pricetag is for the lot right next to it, which is probably not buildable.

  6. The Gilroy Alex Says:

The whole house looks like it’s sinking into the ground.

  7. nomadic Says:

#3 (sfbb), when you stop rolling, will the Foothills Park Police kick you out for not being a Palo Alto resident? Maybe they’d let you stay if you promise not to tear up the soccer field…

  8. sfbubblebuyer Says:

#7 : I suspect they will ticket you for being insufficiently snooty and generally unkempt, and escort you out of town.

  9. The Gilroy Alex Says:

What’s a “portola” anyway? Someone missed out on a great name for a portable toilet.

  10. SanMatean Says:

Madhaus, you know I love you too, absence just makes the heart grow fonder. Anyways, I seem to remember burbed mentioning a personal crisis a few months back, so I always try to cheer for him/her when I can. After all, burbed brought us burbed.com!
