MASTER BEDROOM LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS MAGAZINE
Here’s another great find from Burbed reader Tracy! I hope Tracy doesn’t find a house to buy anytime soon, or say goodbye to these terrific listings and I’ll have to look at places like these myself. Don’t know if I’d dare face the wilds of Milpitas, though, so thanks very much, Tracy!

ON REDFIN: 18 daysGORGEOUS COMPLETELY RE-MODELED DREAM HOME!! NEUTRAL COLORS THRU-OUT. MASTER BEDROOM LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS MAGAZINE WITH JACUZZI TUB, FIREPLACE AND VIEW OF THE HILLSIDE. ENORMOUS ALMOST 8,000 SQ. FT. LOT. GET HERE FAST!! WON’T LAST!!
Here’s what Tracy had to say about this place:
I don’t know what magazines they are reading! Absolutely hideous complete with Kawlums ! Strange, there are no granite countertops or red walls??? Very fancy outdoor kitchen and shed too! Maybe the house looks better in person? Could be just a horrible set of photos, a lame description, and lack of caps or punctuation that makes this one a candidate for the blog!
Hey, not every house featured on Burbed claims their interior decoration is good enough to be in a national magazine. The closest thing I can think of is that place in Campbell that said it looked like it was in Saratoga.
And not every house featured in Burbed has MAWBUL KAWLUMS FTW. Too bad there aren’t any on the outside.
But, oh wow, when was this kitchen done, 1986? And the living room, um, I can’t figure out if those are sanitary covers or if someone has too much time on her hands and a sewing machine.
At least they put their laundry away, you know what I’m saying?
Hey look! You get your own mini-golf park in the back yard! Awesomeness! Plus a terrific design touch in the bathroom: the premium sink/basin so conveniently located right next to the crapper.
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the MASTER BEDROOM that LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS MAGAZINE WITH JACUZZI TUB, FIREPLACE AND VIEW OF THE HILLSIDE. Ready?
OMFG. Is that a fireplace, or a 1958 television console? I figure it needs the fan to keep the vacuum tubes from overheating. Here’s another view, in case you don’t like this one.
Yeah that looks like something out of Better Homes and Gardens Magazine all right: a before picture.

No Worries, I’m not going anywhere soon. I made an offer on a reo no go, lost a sale at the last minute ( short sale) then bought a fixer MONSTER ( which I really should offer you it’s so bad,) when it was six days on the market. Now, I have turned around and put it back on the market and not to make a flippin profit either. Sigh… I was so hungry to buy a house, I took on a project I couldn’t handle. After this, I am sinking back into the ooze with the renters.

That set of chairs at the kitchen table–that deserves the magazine’s front cover. Before you suggest otherwise, please keep in mind that’s the photo with the MAWBUL KAWLUMS, plus you can see the ‘sanitary covers’ in the background. Win-Win-Win.

I like the marble column on top of the fireplace. Creative designer’s touch!

I don’t think those are mawbuhl cawlehms. I think those are “We did a shitty job designing our expansion and will try to pretend we don’t have structural members in the middle of our dining room by putting in mawbuhl cawlehms!”
Much rarer than straight up Mawbuhl Cawlehms. And funnier, if you ask me.

The columns support the second floor addition. It makes it really obvious the second floor was added when the owners didn’t match the paint color on the first floor. Maybe that design tip was in a magazine, too.

Great columns, but shouldn’t there be a TV over that fireplace?

a super-interesting new listing, as it was last sold for 15% more in Sept 2008. it’s a great house that I remember well from my housing search back then:

#8- Today the listing price of 1286 Arbor is roughly the same as the listing price in 2008.
Given the pricing strategy, will next sale be more or less than $2.3M?

Gawd that’s ugly. And it’s in Milpenis.
There’s a good chance that fireplace is a wonderful gadget called a pellet stove. You buy these bags of wood pellets that look like a constipation cure for rabbits and pour ‘em in, a lil’ motor feeds them out and the poor bitty things burn a few at a time. A fan blows the resulting warm air around. Out in hickville where I am, you can buy those pellets all over.
Tracy tea house – you’re babbling.

Gilroy,
You read my mind. The column on top of the fiireplace makes it looks like a pellet stove incognito.

All those damn columns make it look like they knocked down nearly every interior wall. Gack. This is a house in suburbia, not a freakin’ loft in the city.

These are excellent pictures here. I particularly like the kitchen layout. What’s with the columns?
