BLACK FRIDAY DEALS: Cheapest house in Santa Clara County
It’s time for our post-Thanksgiving Black Friday Deals, Deals, Deals! This series was a big hit last year, so we’ve brought it back, better than ever. That’s why we opened an hour early this morning.
Every day we’ll feature the cheapest property we could find in a featured place. We’re also going to keep bringing you the regular listings, because It’s Still Special Here.
Today, the cheapest house in the entire County of Santa Clara! How much would you pay for an actual house (NOT A CONDO) on an actual lot (NOT PAVEMENT) in an actual city (NOT IN GILROY)? And it’s not even one of those micro-cottages. This is a real 3 bedroom, 2 bath house well over 1,000 square feet in size.
But, it’s BLACK FRIDAY, so you have to HURRY! This one won’t last long because someone’s going to get it in the shorts.

Yes, this house must be sold by SUNDAY! Wow, it isn’t even 80 years old. An actual house for $150K. That means if you earn $50K a year, like if you were a really lazy engineer and only worked 20 hours a week while whining at Occupy San Jose the other 148 hours a week, YOU COULD STILL QUALIFY TO BUY THIS HOUSE (provided you haven’t completely messed up your credit by, say, buying a house in the last 10 years.)
No more excuses. NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY.

Anyone going to this open house? Think it’ll look like this?

Did you check Morgan Hill?
Yeah, an engineer can make $50k in Santa Clara County, there just have to be 3 of you, one works as a wal-mart greeter, one stocks shelves, one gets some agricultural work or casual work in front of Home Depot. If you all work here, PROFIT by which I mean, the elusive $50k.

Interesting … the price seems pretty low for the area, even as a short sale. Maybe they’ll attract cash buyers/investors, who’ll bid up the price to something the bank(s) will find more acceptable.

“Apr 23, 2007 Sold (Public Records) $627,000″
The current price of $150k is 75% off the 2007 sold price.
I’m sure the owner didn’t want to toss out a flat screen television every month, and when he purchased this fine place, he made sure that didn’t happen.
Assuming the $150k is a reasonable estimate of the final sale price, the average monthly loss is over $8k. Far from a new Escalade every month, I’m sure the owner was happy, since my guess is that he valued the pride of home ownership more than the cost.

Gilroy Alex, I didn’t specifically check Morgan Hill, I just searched for Santa Clara County houses under $100,000 and didn’t find anything, so I upped it to $150K and found a few. Most of the ones for $149K were pending and this one wasn’t, so it’s today’s Deal!
Black Friday Deals will continue!

It’s a find all right, some foreigner-with-cash could buy this and not lose *too* much, buy it for their kid who’s going to San Jose State or something.
Good find, I guess. A couple of years and this place will perhaps grace these pages again at $75k hehe.

“A couple of years and this place will perhaps grace these pages again at $75k hehe.”
As always, buy in the RBA, where the housing price appreciation takes care of everything, no matter the initial cost.

This house at this price is worth it if it ever sells.
142 days? Doubt it’s really for sale.
This is probably to nail in the lowest possible to go back to the bank with said proof. Good luck on the second.

PS: Those mobile homes in PA were for around this price. Shenagigans.

[...] this quick. Now, you may be asking yourself, how can this be the cheapest house downtown when the cheapest house in the entire county cost (gasp!) a hundred dollars [...]
