Truly manificent & elegan: It’s more classy that Cupertino
We get all kinds of fan comments at Burbed. (If you’re not reading the comments as well as the articles, you’re missing out on a lot.) Here’s one that recently came in on a house that ran in November. November, 2010.
First, the old listing. This seems like a fairly typical treatment of a property with some lexically lacking listing copy.
Here’s what our new fan, Kim, had to say about our helpful home hugging. We’ve included a few pictures of the house under discussion, available to anyone with a search engine.
This is the most nasty real estate blog I’ve ever read. I’m surprised that nobody has filed a lawsuit against you for slander.
For the record, I live in Saratoga and know the Vendome area quite well because a few friends live there. Rankin and Ayer streets are full of beautiful houses. Did you ever visit the area? It’s more classy that Cupertino.
There are a few bail bonds offices since the County jail and court are approx 1 mile from the area. That’s all.
I know 2 attorneys and 3 engineers who reside on this street.
Pl be careful with your writing. It’s not funny. Put yourself in the shoes of the vendor.
btw, I’m not in the real estate business. I wonder if you hold grudges against the vendor or the listing agent.
Given that Burbed has run a different home listing every single weekday for more than six years, our having a grudge against this particular “vendor” or listing agent is not very likely.
Maybe Kim has a relationship with the vendor or listing agent and wanted us to take another look at this house. And we’d be delighted to, because it’s still for sale!

Looks like over the past year and a half, this house has had its price cut 21 percent and also managed to misplace two full bathrooms while not losing a single square foot. That must have happened with the Format entry.
But it gets even better this time! The house is no longer a Colonial. For $149,000 less, you now get a French chateau. C’est magnifique!
Also, can one slander a listing? We can think of one way, but never was this house’s repute ever discussed, for good or ill.
But don’t just point the finger at this blog. Even the Redfin agent is gossiping about this house!
Is she suggesting that entertaining be done downstairs and, um, other things up? That might be an even better money-maker than the Jail Annex suggestion last time. Thanks, Jane!

Someone doesn’t understand LOLINTERNET, I guess.

No! You’re Nasty!
March 16th, 2012 at 8:03 am
If this is the ‘most nasty real estate blog’ that Kim has ever read, how many has she read?
March 16th, 2012 at 8:25 am
So much for “Please be nice. No name calling, no personal attacks, …”
The nastiness brings me back every day!
March 16th, 2012 at 8:27 am
“French chateau.”
thounds thuper gay.

Kim says that the area is “more classy that Cupertino”! Well, that fixes everything! More classy than Cupertino? It’s practically 5th Avenue then.
I mean Cupertino–international home of the stripmall and students who only study–is the paragon, the ultimate, the very definition of class. And Vendome is classier than that?
If only I hadn’t been priced out forever.
March 16th, 2012 at 9:25 am
Maybe this is is her house?
March 16th, 2012 at 10:21 am
There is nothing wrong with this house that a few dozen more price reductions can’t fix.

Question #478:
“It’s more classy that Cupertino”
A. “MmmmHmmmm.”
B. “You go girl.”
C. “OH NO SHE DID’INT?!”
D. “SNAP!”
E: All of the above.

#8- I was looking for a good example, and while I’m sure there is one in the BA (certainly not in the RBA, where over-bidding is automatic), here is a fine example of crazy price reductions:
Tigard OR listing
March 16th, 2012 at 11:32 am
That Tigard OR listing history:
Originally listed in May 2011 at $838,800.
12 price reductions for a total of $844 (mean = $70, but one is $740)
8 price increases for a total of $10,045 (one is $10,000)
Net is a price increase of $9,201.
Priced to sell today at $848,001
Median days between change is 7.
CRAZY!

You know, this is one of the less-bad houses I have seen featured here. The random response from KIM is the icing though. Spelling & grammar errors are the best when they are contained in someone’s silly accusations.
The house seems to be pending as of now. I wouldn’t pay $550k to live in THAT part of San Jose, although there are also worse areas. Maybe someone wants to have convenient access to Berrarmine so they can be guaranteed a 2400 on the SAT and go to Ivy Reague schoor! Better not let your kid walk through that neighborhood to school though…play it safe & drive them in your Mercedes SUV. You won’t even have to bother unlocking it once the windows are busted out by some friendly neighbors looking for crack money!

“The house seems to be pending as of now.”
A burbed hat trick!
March 16th, 2012 at 12:13 pm
Time to list your house for an outrageous sum and submit it to Burbed!
March 16th, 2012 at 12:17 pm
Burbed article posted: 5:09 AM
Listing updated to Pending: 7:56 AM
Coincidence? I think not!
March 16th, 2012 at 12:19 pm
I hope Kim is happy now. She can move (or collect her commission). Congratulations either way!
March 16th, 2012 at 12:21 pm
Burbed should be getting a cut of the sales commission. Burbed has put more work into selling this house than the listing agent.

Funny as hell. Anyone who lives in Slummyvale knows, bail bonds are an important part of life there.
As for attorneys and engineers, the homeless communities all have a few, look for the encampment among the empty tech buildings between Maude and Central Expressway, and along the Stevens Creek Trail. Or hang out in downtown Sunnyvale after about 9PM and let them come to you.
A few nights ago I was having fun looking up all the dive bars in Sunnyvale, like the Blue Bonnet and Paul & Harvey’s. I thought I’d looked at the Yelp reviews of them all, and then two days ago I found myself in Slummyvale. I’d forgotten one, the Blue Max! A drunk in Slummyvale never has to go far for their “medicine”.

#15- Now I’m starting to think you are the one snatching these up.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:59 pm
SEA if I wanted to snatch them up, wouldn’t I do so a day ahead of the article posting? Wouldn’t want one of the readers skunking me!
March 16th, 2012 at 3:46 pm
Your offer, maybe accepted yesterday, specifies when it will go pending in the MLS system. Conveniently you feature your purchase right before.
“Coincidence? I think not!”

Wallpaper in bedroom + flooring in kitchen = SAME!
March 17th, 2012 at 7:58 pm
Kim,
You nasty skanky realtor! You lub me long time?!
March 18th, 2012 at 2:28 pm
This house is under contract now.
Another property, 87 Rankin with 1,709 sqare feet is listed for $625,000. I wonder whether the 130 Rankin house had multiple bids.
I like this area, because it’s near freeway, light rail, Japan town . . . A coworker of mine takes the light rail to work at Santa Clara and Market everyday. Whenever I visit her, we usually go to the farmers’ market.
I do think the original blogger has (inadvertently?) misrepresented the value and beauty of this neighborhood. I suggest that she/he and those who ridiculed this property should come see the area first. To be fair, this zipcode and others in San Jose, such as 95112, 95126 do not have good schools. If you plan to live here, you’d better send your children to private schools.
March 19th, 2012 at 10:25 am
Whoa, somebody ELSE came to defend Kim’s honor! Or at least somebody else willing to type a different name into the little box up there.
March 19th, 2012 at 10:59 am
Different name, different email address, but exactly the same IP address as Kim. I’m shocked, shocked to discover that!
March 19th, 2012 at 12:13 pm
I agree with #24- “I do think the original blogger has (inadvertently?) misrepresented the value and beauty of this neighborhood.”
The treatment was far too nice in the true Bay Area spirit.
