Check with City to explore other possibility

Areas close to the high-tech jobs are so desirable right now, homes for sale there are snapped up before the seller finishes signing the contract with an agent.  Meanwhile, far-flung exurbs are not doing as well.  Commuting an hour, or even more, is not desirable to most buyers with Silicon Valley jobs.

So what about the places that are still within what we think of as Silicon Valley, but aren’t a relatively easy commute to the job centers?  What if those areas were Foreclosure Central during the credit crunch?  What if some of the residents in those neighborhoods aren’t exactly Junior League material? Let’s take a look at such a big lot Berryessa listing from Burbed reader Tracy Tea House.

San Jose, CA 95132

LARGE LOT, Value in land, city allowed to build 3 houses couple years ago, contact city to verify status of approval. Near Piedmont high, Piedmont Middle, elementary school and library. It is very rare to find large lot like this in North Valley. Check with City to explore other possibility. VERY LARGE DOG, DO NOT DISTURB OCCUPANT, DO NOT ENTER PROPERTY. WRITE OFFER SUBJECT TO INSPECTION

Since you won’t be entering the property (VERY LARGE DOG, DO NOT DISTURB OCCUPANT), good thing this home listing has 24 pictures.  Here a few of our favorites.

24 pictures of the same six parts of the outside of the house.  But the good thing about these photos is you can play Where’s Waldo with them, assuming Waldo’s the name of the VERY LARGE DOG.

How about scrape the house and plant a kiwi orchard! Or will the city only approve dog uses? Just place an offer and they will tell you all about it, and might even let you see the grow house, cooker set up or dog kennels inside.

  2. PK Says:

Big lot? Large dog? The things considered big here still get me. Maybe the dog doubled in size in the last 7 years?

  3. nomadic Says:

I love how you can see the fence in one pic, so you can appreciate how the realtard took the photos by hanging over the fence.

  4. Dr. Chorillo Says:

Includes a ramshackle garage door to nowhere, allowing for quick access to Rottweiler Gardens.

Somebody bookmark this listing — I expect to see photos of this home accompanying a headline like “ATF Raid in North Valley.”

  5. SEA Says:

“Feb 07, 2012 Sold (Public Records) $150,000 -24.2%/yr Public Records”

  6. Crissa Says:

Garages in back yards were big in the post-war boom. Dunno why.

  7. sfbubblebuyer Says:

Somebody had an ‘in’ with whoever marketed the foreclosure. The bank should be suing.

  8. sprezzatura Says:

Good luck getting that tenant out of there.
