Warning! Feature from the East Bay Lagoon! NSFW!
Our pleas have been heard! A couple of weeks ago, when posting the nine kajillionth house in Mountain View “close to Google,” we asked for homes that were not in the hot, hot, hot Mountain View/Palo Alto area. And Burbed reader JL has delivered, with this attractive attached abode in Alameda. Yes, Alameda, as in the island in Alameda County.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you about this one, because we certainly did.

Style: Contemporary
View: Water
County: AlamedaOpen – Sunday, Sept 23rd, 2 – 3 pm only. A 4 bedroom single-family attached home situated on a quiet lagoon, close to the beach and walking path. TLC needed for this contemporary home.
So far, nothing too alarming here, other than this “duet home” having a garage door face-off. One looks like a paint sampler and one doesn’t. One has a peaked roof feature and one doesn’t. The windows and shutters aren’t matched either.
Guess our standards shouldn’t be so high when buying a house directly from the bank instead of through a pesky owner.
So first, let’s first admire that Water view we were promised.
Delightful! Ready to see the inside of the house? Sure you are. You may need to take a minute to adjust your eyes from the bright sun glinting off the water. We’ll give you a brief rest by making you click through to see them, and many more pictures!

Now that you’re ready to admire the interior, have a look at the living room and the kitchen.

Why, it looks like they even left the refrigerator! That’s a nice “bunus,” since the washer and dryer didn’t care to remain. We’ll take a look out back before heading upstairs. (Note: the staircase photo reminds us of this.)

Now let’s take a peek at the bedrooms.

Room for lots of stuff! Awesome! We’ll finish up and then check out the bathroom (here’s the NSFW part).

Looks like someone left their calling card at right! This may be a Burbed first, as we’ve had plenty of open toilets, but never before have we showcased a listing photo with an unflushed one.
We did warn you. And one more warning: when they said it needs some TLC, perhaps they weren’t just referring to the clutter.

#2- Probably not without personally carrying water and a bucket to flush it.

welcome to the oakland airport flight path. and a potentially stinky lagoon on bad current days. or when it’s 100* outside, like today maybe?
that potty pic is ridiculous; even a lousy realtor could flush or drop the lid. jeesh!
the tax base (according to zillow) is in the $90s – how much fricken equity did they take out to go info foreclosure?!?

Foreclosed at $463,827. That’s a lot of MEWing.

Gross. Do agents listing foreclosures like these really make 3%? And go this far down the why bother path?
October 1st, 2012 at 10:19 pm
“Do agents listing foreclosures like these really make 3%?”
6% total sales commission
3% on listing agent side
3% on to the other agent’s side
Each side often gets cut in half again, so the listing agent (salesperson) earns 1.5%, and the other half is earned by the broker.
