The only thing this house is missing is a million dollar price tag.  It’s got everything else: eye-catching facade, listing pix pulled off Redfin and most of the other major sites (thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for Movoto!), ALL CAPS in the listing copy, along with a misused apostrophe and ENDLESS exclamation points!!!!!!

Bunus: Date stamps on the photos, too.  The only thing left to do is place your bets how high the winning overbid comes in at.

    Year: 2011
Property taxes: $901 ($75 per month)
    Tax assessment: $65k

The price appreciation in this neighborhood in one year is completely nuts. I bought a house not far away from this one in 2011 for less than the listing price of this dump. Last year you could get a similar house that was completely renovated, and not on an extremely busy street for less than $850K. This year you’re lucky if you can get a shithole that’s been occupied by renters, across the street from a traffic nightmare!

… and probably maintained with nothing but light bulbs and Drano for the last thirty years.

thank gawd we’re back in mtv. it’s been too many days visiting non-epi-center-of-the-universe burgs.

i think TLC is a very light assessment of what’s needed for this place.

i saw a dumpster in the driveway a while back and figured they’d be cleaning up for a sale, soon. a full dumpster and they still need to de-clutter and clean up.

price seems high for the condition. the neighborhood has been on the upswing for a while, but the higher prices are for houses that are move-in ready. with so few pix, it’s hard to determine what the rest of this place looks like. i’d guess somewhere around ‘ugh’.

  5. dollarbin Says:

The listing must be pretty rough for the price, this place had to suffer the indignity of two open house weekends before it attracted enough over-bids to go pending.

Lisa (#2), that’s called “Mountain View is hot, hot, HOT!” Imagine how much equity you must be sitting on RIGHT NOW!

  7. Sanjay Says:

Good points, #2. Paying over $800k to be next to shithole renters is the worst part.

Mountain View is clearly eager to be the new Palo Alto. You too can brag to your friends about dropping a cool $million for a dated crap shack in a squarely “meh” location! The Google Reality Distortion Field is holding strong!

I haven’t been on here in a while, but it is pretty clear that the next up-cycle is steaming ahead in the SFBA. This is good for Burbed I would assume since it means that there will be plenty of fresh material to simultaneously laugh and cry at.

Next time my parents ask me when I am going to buy a house, I will just send them a link to this post. It should elucidate my reasons pretty well…nasty house, so-so location, pending in 16 days for $835k.

It’s like buying a BMW. Spending $30K will only get you a piece of crap.

The property is really great. I think it deserves a great pricing. I like to have such a home. With some simple improvement project the home can turn into a great one.

This spam attempt is really great. I think it deserves a great placing. I like to have such a spam. With some simple improvement project (URL removal) the spam can turn into a great one. –ed.
