Low Prices? Nobody beats us for low prices: Contra Costa Edition
Yesterday’s house seems to be a disappointment to some of you. There were some critics calling out the neighborhood, or maybe the neighbors. Maybe you don’t understand what we’re doing here. We said we would find you the cheapest house in every county. We are then doing that. If the neighborhood isn’t la-di-dah enough for you sip-your-tea-with-a-raised-pinky types, just keep your jodhpurs on. We’ll include some Real Bay Area cities in our Black Friday Deals.
Just… not yet! Today, the cheapest house in all of Contra Costa County! Behold!

Oh poor Richmond. This is the area I bailed out of to come to the blessed valley. Next door to this bungalow, if I remember correctly is a really old funky motel and this area is desolate.

Serious question: can you get a mortgage for a house like that in the Bay Area? Or… maybe you need to buy it in cash and refinance? Anyone know?
(No, I’m happy in the RBA, just curious.)

Dear Burbed, I’m surprised to be saying this but it’s just not that much fun making fun of depressing wrecks in the 5 figure range, where some poor sap has to live.
What IS fun is mocking overpriced crapshacks with horrible nouveau riche “designer touches” and ridiculously pretentious/horribly misspelled/outlandishly wrong listing copy.
Please take note.
Sorry, this went to the moderation queue. We hope the other four readers of this blog will chime in as well.
