Fabulous Foster City Freehold
If you take a look along our right-hand column, you can see a number of useful things to click. There’s our email contacts, for when you want to send in the perfect example of Housing Win. There’s some interesting websites we think you’d enjoy. And there’s a link for every category we’ve ever filed anything under, along with how many articles are in each one. Most of our categories are location, location, location.
Take a glance at today’s category, Foster City. It’s a little on the scant side, and there’s a good reason for that. Foster City is full of tract housing, and most of it’s in fairly good shape. Places with good schools don’t tend to get run-down properties. And besides, there’s so much housing win right next door in the flats of San Mateo. All this is a fairly long-winded way to welcome today’s featured home, from Burbed reader Pizzawillcome. Thanks very much for pulling up a rarity: Burbed-worthy in Foster City!

Here’s the Pizza on this fab find:
I’ve been visiting Burbed on a daily basis for a few months. It is strangely therapeutic.
This house gave me an urge to send in my first burbed alert. My favorites are the Cinderella-style bathroom mirror and the vanity.
Our favorite picture is the first one, because we don’t typically find such artistic photos in Foster City. They’re all strangely identical, but this one is by an agent who says, “No, dammit, this house needs to be backlit! The right buyer wants a house that looms menacingly.
“Also that buyer will appreciate not one but two 8s in the price.”
Bunus: what’s that in the mirror?

Foster City has it all: central location, good schools, great housing stock and nice families. Its biggest problem is that when you hear the word “City” in a town name, you think truck stocks and industrial parks, not bedroom community. Note to city council… change your town’s name and your town will go up in value 20%!

the auction was scheduled for 1/9/13 – did we miss another opportunity?!? rats! no chance to steal this gem sitting on silty landfill, surrounded by man-made lagoons. i’ve never understood the appeal of FC.
the house is a designer’s showpiece. if the designer worked in 1980 (more mirrored walls, please!), and wasn’t re-doing an ‘eichler style’. that kitchen is as out of place as the frilly bathroom amenities.
the best pix are the last 2 – the show place furnace; is it tilted or am i sitting crooked? it doesn’t line up with the ceiling. and the stealth shot of the car; car buffs can guess at the car model based on the headlight.

“Home needs a little TLC but is in great shape.”
lol
“This will go quick. Great price!”
Thanks for telling everyone. You know, buyers are too dumb to recognize a great deal.

Don’t ya just love the granite floor tile found on the counters as well as the back splash? Very creative there! Maybe they placed granite slabs on the floor?

lol, mabeldu, the first kitchen pic made me recoil in horror.
Last sold for $854k in 2006, SEA. Instant equity!
Places with good schools don’t tend to get run-down properties.
madhaus, have you forgotten all of the PA properties where the old people die off? 😉

Two comments above just removed from the moderation queue (#1 and #4). Sorry about that.

Wow, if ever a photo was begging for a weird white outline and purple sky, it’s that one. Apparently they don’t use HDR in FC though, bummer.

Yeh, don’t trust the agent with no photoshop skills!
