2+2- Car Garage w/compressor, lift, upstairs Art Studio
It’s almost time for the weekend, and that means more Open Houses! Now that Daylight Savings Time is fully in force, we can dispense with Winter Bubble and move directly to Spring Bounce. So let’s have a look at this stupendously staged showcase, courtesy of Burbed reader Darkhorse. Thanks very much! And remember, if you have the perfect (by which we mean not at all perfect) listing for our front page, send it on in with your nominating speech, and you can also have your completely arbitrary internet handle turned into a tag!

What did Darkhorse find so Special about this house? Surely it wasn’t just the compressor.
Willow Glen Listing — Thought you might enjoy this listing. The photos are stunning, maybe a new staging technique, wonder if the tiger and swords are included with the purchase price.
Tiger? Swords? Darkhorse, how could you possibly miss the DOG PET HANGING OUT? (Burbed reader DonnieJ says that’s a cat.)
Guess when a house has staging of this caliber, the buyer won’t mind that a Unique Custom Home w/ many upgrades in the last 4 years needs to be listed as-is. But don’t worry, it’s a REGULAR SALE! Park anywhere on the Long Wide Drive Way.

If you are talking about the porch, that’s a CAT HANGING OUT!
Also, it’s “As is” because it seems public records thinks this house has 1 bathroom. So 2 magically appeared, but they weren’t permitted. So this one’s gonna be a cash purchase.
SO FROTHY!

“Nov 02, 1994 Sold (Public Records) $250,000″
Standard RBA?

That’s a cat? Looks like a dog to me. I could change the tag to pets just to be vague.
Yeah the public records say there’s a 3/1 of 1,182 sf in place, built 1915. This house claims a 1984 build date. They built the whole thing without permits? Yowza. (A remodel/addition would not change the build date.)

Definitely a cat on the bed.

There is a “guess” bedroom.
Makes me wonder….

I vote dog, that would be the beefiest cat ever to grace the planet.

I think you meant “staging of this EXCALIBUR” there.

I am shocked at the prices of homes in desirable Bay Area neighborhoods compared to other metro area. Take for example this house in Scottsdale, AZ close to freeways, golf course, resort, shopping etc. It is similar in sq ft, lot size, beds/baths, is newer and is only $211/sq ft compared to $579/sq ft for the house in Willow Glen.

Garage with lift?! Hell yeah! Why buy one for a few grand when I can buy a big house with a wall heater and undetermined permit history? A guess bedroom? Forget that. We can guess if the plumbing meets code!
Do you suppose they’d include all of the clutter if I pay full asking price? What an interesting couple must live here.

Strange house. Looks like one big man cave. I’d probably be more ok with it other than its got a price tag that defies the value I see here. Whoever buys it will either need to have the exact same odd tastes in interior decorating or be in for some serious remodeling work on top of the royal sales price.

First of all, I would LOVE a garage with a lift.
But I figured that would reduce the value of the house, as those who put lifts in their garage, aren’t really in nice areas, and perhaps (hint hint) have vehicles with blue tarps on them out front.
Next, that’s a cat. I bet my bottom dollar on it. I have seen too many calico’s in my lifetime with white ‘socks’. A big one too. Perhaps they feed it tiger food.
I get what you are saying about the build date, but aren’t the public records supposed to reflect permitted changes. Otherwise, why do they even have a “year renovated” field? Especially when it was updated December 2012. Makes me wonder. Is there anyone who can help? Anything is possible, but if records are inaccurate, not being polled correctly, or not being pulled from the right database, why make them a feature of RedFin. So confusing.

Throw in the saddle set-up and it’s a deal? Can we use the saddle on the big ole’ cat on the deck? I also enjoy the electrical fire hazard next to the wall heater. The sword collection around the sauna is the coolest. How can you pass this up?

Have we figured out what the item that looks like an urn in the 6th photo actually is? What exactly is that photo trying to tell us?
And I also vote cat.

That kitty is puffed up & tail down MAD because of the clear lack of estrogen in the decorative choices. A buyer will have to spend a fortune on glue gun and glitter to get that place habitable. (Oh, the browns! shudder.)

If that urn-thing Divasm mentioned isn’t due to a female influence, I shudder to think what it might be.
I also think it’s a big cat. Maybe she’s pregnant. (Nearly all calicos are female.)
