Not a Drive by in Vallejo. More like ez access to GTFO.

There’s Real Bay Area, there’s Almost the Real Bay Area, there’s Might Be Real Bay Area… and then there’s No Way No How is this RBA. Today’s house is definitely in the latter category.  Thanks very much to Burbed reader L in Vallejo for this fascinating find.

Beautiful tri-level home, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath 2 car garage attached in a nice quiet cul-de sac. .location , redwood deck 2 fireplaces , well maintained, clean, spacious . .. ez access to Fway. .. not a drive by. .. a must see. ..

Does L think this is a must see? Let’s listen:

130723-ruby-fireplaceYour blog was so refreshing as I went through the home buying process!

So, I know Vallejo isn’t included in the RBA – but enjoyed the listing pictures on this one very much – especially coupled with the copy.

Potential song pairing: Train, "Drive By"

I think my favorite pic is the pillows surrounding the fireplace.

It’s hard for us to choose just one favorite pic, and it was even harder for the realtard to do so.  And she didn’t have to! The same shots appear over and over and over!  For example, here are pictures 3,4,5 and 11.  Also #10 looks suspiciously like #8 above (the pillows undergoing flammability testing).

There are 23 pictures in the listing. See how many distinct images there are (hint, fewer than you think!). And yet not one of the ez access to Fway.

And that’s not just any Fway, that’s the approach to the Carquinez Bridge! Which means if it’s backed up, you’ll know just by looking down the street!

Gee, L, thanks for reminding me that horrible song by Train exists!

  2. L in Vallejo Says:

Sorry, nomadic. It got stuck in my head after that listing and those pics. And I couldn’t think of the perfect Ice Cube lyric.

DHO alert! Nice one, madhaus. Just slip in the pic (twice) and see if anyone is paying attention. I didn’t notice until I looked on Redfin. Isn’t there a tag for that?

The asking price seemed reasonable, but after seeing this comp, I guess they’re quite ambitious. The lot is almost 2x the size, but land just isn’t that valuable up there.

  4. madhaus Says:

Honestly, I didn’t notice the DHO (in the bathroom mirror?) until you called it out. Will add the tag and add the picture to our DHO collection on Redfin.

Yikes! and no mention of the crime of course. I was briefly interested in the Vista de Vallejo neighborhood (nice old houses, hilly, lots of trees, mostly well kept) until I Googled it and found the neighborhood FB page…serial freezer burglaries, scammers at the door regularly, etc…interesting reading, now I know why it is “affordable”

Sounds like the same sort of busybodies in my neighborhood (Los Gatos) who want to call the cops on all solicitors and anyone they see who is not white. It appears that all areas have an occasional break-in but those forums only share the bad news, making the situation seem worse.

  7. very amused Says:

Know what you mean about those forums. Mine went absolutely insane last week over college students from Calpers walking the hood. At least ten busybodies posting over and over there is no such charity as Calpers, ignoring the other ten busybodies posting were from CalPIRG. Which is legit. At least 3 of these hard-of-hearing paranoid loons called the police on these civic-minded students because everyone knows CalPers is a pension plan! They must be up to no good. No good! They’re STEALING our pensions! Call 911!

  8. nomadic Says:

No, no – they’re stealing our tax dollars for their fat pensions. Everyone knows that.
