CONTRACTORS DREAM! in Fremont

Happy Monday! Let’s get back to some housing win by sticking our toe just the teensiest bit into the East Bay. Noooo, we don’t mean Oakland or Berkeley or Richmond. We mean just over the Alameda County line but almost in Silicon Valley: Fremont! Or as our hard-working real estate professionals call it: Fre-tastic!*

130915-mission-cabinets* This is somewhat of an exaggeration on our part (by which we mean a complete lie). We don’t know anyone who calls the city Fre-tastic, although we did overhear one realtard tell a client that this area was Fre-netic. That’s good, right?

And speaking of good, this will be an awesome house for any small children you happen to have lying around. Not only is the playground all set up in front, look what’s in your back yard!

That’s not just ordinary railroad tracks, but a railroad station for Niles Canyon Railway. Yes, good old-fashioned trains, in your very own backyard! Or close enough to smell them, anyway! Whoo-whoo!  Oops, we mean WHOO-WHOO!

CHECK W/ CITY REGARDING POSSIBILITIES!

The owners must be on crack to try selling that dump at such a high price.

I guess the schools are supposed to be good? That’s one of the worst houses we’ve seen here in a long time.

Niles, which is near here, is really nice and is a place I would consider living. It’s relatively untouched by time, almost like a smaller Alameda. I went to the Edison theatre aka Niles Film Museum there last Saturday and saw a silent movie and a wonderful piano accompaniment (Judy Rosenberg), Judy blew me away. This area…something is wrong with this area. I’ve seen these houses and they look even worse in person. I don’t really believe in vibes, but…something is wrong with this area.

I think it’s a statement of fact: “Contractors dream!”, because maybe that was in doubt. Sort of like: “Bunnies frolic!”

Does the yellow playhouse count as one of the two homes?

  6. Real Estater Says:

Contractors sure have a lot of nice dreams!

Pheeewwwww! Got in this before the thread was closed.

Niles has got to be one of the 25 best neighborhoods in the bay area to live and raise family. Street fairs and events throughout the summer, mid 900 API elementary, parks up the ass, a true small town vide, a few good eats, etc. But that clunk of homes between the rail tracks and Mission has got to be the second worst street in Niles. The worst is Vallejo St. And this one sold for $480K, would probably sell for 550K today. Ridiculous.

Regardless, Niles has everything from 800 sq ft bungalows on the south end to 2800 sq feet “luxury” homes (by bay area standards) on the south end.

And that dirt patch below the house in question in the sat photo above, check it out today –
