There are those pessimists that declare we are at the peak of another housing bubble.

First, let’s get things straight – there was never a housing bubble. Those wild days of 2004-2006 were simply some housing exuberance, like an EDM song waiting for the bass to drop. (Not familiar? Educate yourself here)

Now, we all know that Burlingame is one of the most desirable cities in the nation because of its _____, _____, and halfway between SF and Mountain View.

Doesn’t that automatically make this house worth $1.26M?

Also, this is really two houses!

Bubble? What bubble.

What’s not to love? Conveniently located adjacent to the Airport and 101. Any closer to the SFO glide path and you’d need FAA clearance.

The price is in the Zillow range, so it must be right!

Forty-eight days on the market… A Real™ house would have been sold by now.

This isn’t particularly overpriced for Burlingame, which averages 1k per square foot. Not sure what the surprise is here, is it that the writer isn’t familiar with areas outside of Sotuh Bay?

I drive past here all the time.
This house is on a busy street that intersects a very busy street, Rollins Road, a block and a half away. Rollins is the side road to the freeway.
If you’re buying this so your kid can go to Burlingame schools, make sure your kid knows how not to get squished first.
If, however, you are buying this due to proximity of Hot Wok Diner and Ninis…score.
(However, on seeing moanful Redfin comments about how they are fifth in line (snark) for this place…uh good luck).

I think it’s more bemusement than surprise.

    The surprise?

Well …. first, I think you can at least check the permits before I pull my pants down and give you my pucker.

Second would be the fact that I am paying a $5500 a month mortgage and I am eating on particle board countertops.

I mean can you at least give me some tile ….. Even shady motel bathrooms have tile …..

So it looks like this gem got pulled off market.
Burlingame is weird, especially lower Burlingame. You see houses being put up just to see what the market will bear, then coming off.
I would rather negotiate directly with a seller. You draw up your offer, you draw up your contingencies and you buy based on them. What is there in this that is worth $120K? If people want to pay that for Realtors, fine. But there should be a way for we who do not need or want them.

This is less than a mile away. Never underestimate what you seek, like tile…
