The yellow Daly City house featured on your site was quite a hit. Well, there is a yellow house in Mountain View as well which deserves mention - 140 S Rengstorff Ave Mountain View 94040 (MLS#: 800437)

I began looking up houses on www.mlslistings.com last year in September. This house was listed on 09/27/07 (possibly much earlier) at $875,000. By 10/27/07, the price had dropped to 819,988. I stopped tracking prices for a while after that. I restarted looking at prices this month, and now I find the same house listed at $939,000! Sweet 14% appreciation in less than 6 months! It looks like the house was taken off the list and re-listed on 04/08/2008 for $939k. Impressive appreciation for a house which has been sitting on the market for more than 9 months now. Maybe because it is in zip code 94040! Or, maybe simply because it is yellow.

It’s a roller coaster ride for sure - and as we all know, roller coasters end at the top, not at the bottom. Or something like that.

The anonymous Burbed reader who submitted this thought I should make note of the fact this house is pink. Like Pepto Bismol pink. Pink sure is a popular color in Redwood City - I think this one is even better than the Valentine’s Day special one.

I suppose one could also fall in love with this house because it is in Farm Hill Estate. When I see this house, and it’s 8,400 sqft lot, estate is definitely the first thing I think of.

But really, for me, the big catch is that the dining room can be converted back to the fourth bedroom. I really wonder how this works. With this make a cool transforming sound like in Transformers? Does this use nano-technology? Perhaps the floor flips when you move a vase and press a button - thus converting the room from a dining room to a bedroom. The imagination wanders!

Here’s what I’m guessing, the house itself is 500 sqft, but the garage is 417 sqf - hence the 917 sqft. Just check out the picture above! That’s huge! It’s almost big enough for a second residence (nudgenudgewinkwink).
