So much potential nestled on the hill

Yesterday we had a place in hot, hot, HOT Mountain View that has been on the market for more than a hundred days.  That was a fun game, so let’s play Why Won’t This House Sell yet again.  Today we move to San Mateo County and the delightful breezy bivouac of Brisbane!

You don’t realize just how much work this place needs: “Open floor plan” doesn’t mean what you think it means. 


Also I am going to spot this place the Bay view despite what I can see from the street, which looks like several houses in better repair than this one.  But an Ocean view as well?  I’m dubious.  As to the “city lights,” they didn’t tell you it was Foster City.

Thanks to Burbed reader Sonarrat for this find. Personally I’m disappointed in that there are no photos. With all the configurations that this house enables, I imagine it to be like a Transformer – shifting its shape so that you can enjoy your drive while mom and dad and kids are safe in the 1st floor unit.

Whichever house it is, it’s sure to be a winner. Personally, I hope it is the one that looks like a giant barn. I bet that if you say the right magic phrase, the house will suddenly lift up, and convert into a space shuttle as well. How awesome would that be!

Living on the second floor, you’ll hardly notice if someone comes by and blows up their car. Heck, they could blow up two cars and at most you’d lose your balcony. Rent or buy this Brisbane house – your choice!

He writes:

is it better to pay $934 a square foot, or rent for $1500 a month? Hmmmmm.

Obviously it’s better to pay $934 a square foot. Just think of the tax write off on the mortgage income deduction. And more importantly, just think – you get to tell all your friends you own a home in Brisbane. With a low $3263 mortgage.

Otherwise, you’d just be throwing away $1500 a month by renting the same house.

Besides, as we all know, inflation and appreciation are going up. So by next year, this house will be worth $800,000, and your rent will go up to $921304 a month.

Actually, on second thought, are those two pictures of the same house – front and back? I’m pretty confused at this point.

Nonetheless, I think the person who took the primary photo (at the top of this post) deserves an award for Best Angle and Creative Composition. I bet the photog also worked on Godzilla and other similar projects. Great work!

This kind of stuff just adds value and makes the price worthwhile!
