Close to Freeway and transportation in San Bruno

Let’s finish out our workweek (not that Real Bay Area denizens ever would take a day off) with a place on the way to almost anywhere you’d like to go this weekend.  That is, if you didn’t have a job and were free to go somewhere besides work.  You never know, you might get a Sunday off when you meet your next milestone! (Just kidding!)

Two Bedrooms One bathroom House on a large lot. Currently occupied by Month to month tenants. Need TLC. Close to Freeway and transportation.

Needs Toilet Lid Crushed?  Unfortunately no crapper shots, but we have some winners anyway.  Can’t quite decide if the kitchen merits a Good Housekeeping Tag of Approval or not.

And when this agent said close to freeway, she meant it.  Dang, this place is close to absolutely EVERYTHING.

You could even make extra money taking overflow parking during Thanksgiving!  No wonder the front yard is so durable.

Lovingly kept & lived by current owner for a long time. Per county record it is 3BR/1BA; however, 3rd BR has no closet. Walking distance to BART/CalTrain/Elem School. Easy access to HWY 101 for commuting to SF, E. Bay and So. Bay. Regular Sale (Not a Short Sale or REO). Open House 11/18(Sun 1-4 pm) & 11/25(Sun 1-4 pm). Offers, if any, due by 11/25,3 pm. Information believe to be accurate but not verified.

121123-3rd-kitchenWe’re already doing better than yesterday’s cheapest property in Santa Clara County, because the first find is an actual, detached house.  It’s also eligible for the “cozy” tag, but you can’t have everything, can you? Come on, this is vintage pre-war, and it looks like it’s still in vintage condition! Plus that awesome “No, no, no, this isn’t a distressed sale, really!” plaint in the listing copy.

You want a house? You now have zero excuses. Plus, just like yesterday’s third house, easy access to both 101 and the airport!

This house is the deal of the century! (Information believe to be accurate but not verified.)

Good home conveniently located. This is a short sale. Please do not disturb occupants.

Whatever developer named this street sure has a twisted sense of humor, because it’s a short sale.  There ought to be a Piggyback Lane here too.  Be sure to check out the listing history, because this place has gone pending four different times in the last three years, plus it sold in 2000, yes, twelve years ago, for $247K.

What? You want a detached house?  Okay, but this is your very last chance.

Another opportunity to own this 3 bedroom 1 bathroom single Family home located in San Jose. Very close to shopping centers, mall, and schools. Easy access to freeway 101. Sell is an “AS IS “ condition. Some dual Pane windows. Garage converted but permits unknown.

Oh, we’ve got a winner here! This one has everything! It’s also selling shortly, plus questionable permits and for sale as-is.  The listing copy mentioned the “easy access” to 101, but they didn’t mention the just as easy access to Reid-Hillview Airport. Hope you like the sound of takeoffs and landings!

And remember, more Black Friday Sales to come!

Convenient to Shopping, Walnut Park, Freeways and SFO

There’s a saying: Buy the worst house in the best neighborhood.

But here in the Bay Area, we’re used to being rebels, being innovative, and doing things differently. What better way than to buy a house with fine Italian marble, a gorgeous backyard sanctuary with built in BBQ, and other stunning upgrades here in San Bruno. Your neighbors will simply die of envy.

Let’s also give credit where its due – to the Realtor for being upfront about how easy it will be to get to freeways and SFO. Let’s take a look at the map:

Hey it’s even close to higher education! Who knew!

And look at just how affordable this is. At this price point, you’ll be competing with flight attendants from around the world who will want to stake their claim in having a house in the Bay Area. With fine Italian marble.

Good luck, the competition is going to be tough!

San Jose Airport versus San Francisco Airport

San Jose Improves Its Airport; Now, Just Flights Lag – NYTimes.com
These days, it is only a slight exaggeration to say that Mineta San Jose International Airport, which serves the 10th-largest city in the United States, offers nonstop service to nowhere.

Now, it relies on two daily flights to Mexico to justify the “international” in its name. Although flights to California cities are abundant, San Jose travelers can board only one plane a day to the East Coast — a red-eye to New York on JetBlue Airways, which recently decided to cancel all other service from the city.

For Mr. Khiani, more flights would be nice, but the airport, like the city, does the job well enough. “The people who chose to live in San Jose know what they signed up for — same as the people who live in Jersey, right?” he said.

Ouch! That stings!

And it’s not even accurate… New Jersey has Newark Airport.

Well… at least we can console ourselves in knowing that San Jose is more expensive to live in than New Jersey. Woot!

This home features 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Hardwood floors, wood burning fireplace, and a spacious yard with a detached 2 car garage. A separate dining area just off the kitchen. Close proximity to 101, SFO, BART and shopping.

Burbed reader Pete writes:

“Landing Lane” in Millbrae?

Why don’t they just have the address as “Terminal 1, Gate B34″?

You don’t even have to look at it to know this listing isn’t going to end well – cat portrait and all!

Alright, let’s first look at the cat portrait:

1085707283-cat

Hey that’s not bad. It really adds balance to the wall heater next to it. Actually, this is a clever marketing scheme. It tags onto the rising popularity of Caturdays! “Open house this caturday!” Oooh the ring of that is just amazing!

As for the joke about Terminal 1 Gate B34?

1223323276-sfo

Nice try – but this is actually far closer to the international terminal. Which makes sense since it’s the international people who have the money these days.

I can see it now – one of the many billionaires from Shanghai is flying to SFO to visit. As he passes over Landing Lane he sighs. “I know my investment is safe. I can see it from here.”

That in itself is worth it right there.

Well, you gotta admit, aside from Highway 101 and Runway 1R at San Francisco International Airport, you’ve got an amazingly private backyard to entertain guests.

Let’s take a look at a different view:

Awesome! If you refit your house with flourescent bulbs, you’ll have free lighting as well from the nearby powerlines. Hello cost savings!

This is definitely quite the winner!

Making this lot 6,188 /- Square feet!!

If you’re in the Bay Area, the answer is clearly: “Makes it more special.”

Everything in the Bay Area only serves to make housing more expensive. Let’s take a look at a map and see how the components of this particular property make it a must buy:

First, this house is situated right near the International terminal of SFO. This means that rich moguls from Moscow and Shanghai and Mumbai will easily be able to visit their investment properties in your neighborhood. Haven’t you heard? With the dollar so cheap, these people are snapping up real estate all over – they’ll probably see your house as they taxi to the gate and say “I vant that house! Here are my rubles!”

Next, there’s tranquil 101. Everyone wants easy access to freeways – boom, a major commute saver.

Power lines! Everyone knows that California’s energy grid is in shambles, and that it is 1 step up from Iraq’s. Fortunately, by having these power lines near you, you will likely have first dibs to energy if they should fall down. It’s called thinking ahead.

Not shown, this house is also located near Bart and Caltrain – again, more great commute options.

Frankly, I don’t see how you lose – especially with this bargain basement price of just $735,000 for a 3/1!
