Is that garage short of a house?

What could possibly be done to make a 3/2 house in South Shoreview so unappealing that people will bid on it?

1) Supply one picture of the house at 800 x 600 at so wrong a time of day and angle that it obscures the house almost completely, making it seem like one giant garage. Include the fantastic purple fluorescent sky.

2) Then write this description:

"fantastic three bedroom home with large family room, two fireplaces, two car garage 7 great yard with build in BBQ in great neighborhood."

3) With such marketing, it must be a bargain! Price it 10 percent below realistic to get a bidding war started to cover that ’05 mortgage!

That looks like a pretty fine house. I wonder what’s wrong with it.

But here’s what Burbed reader Sam wanted to bring to our attention:

I see this kind of thing from time to time- a short sale property that goes pending the same day it is listed.  I have to wonder how the underwriting bank- who is taking a loss on this kind of transaction- can permit this to happen.  Of course, the bank may not agree to the sale, but if they do it sure smacks of some kind of rigged game/insider shenanigans. Since sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants, I’m hoping that burbed can shine some light on what appears to be something rotten.

Let’s look at the history real quick:


Looking at this listing, what I see is that the listing price is $199k. But we’ll have to wait and see what the final selling price is! Will be $500k? $750k? $1M?

Lovely home in excellent conditions!!! It has lots of upgrades, Updated kitchen with granite counters, elegant hardwood floors, Renovated Bathroom with marble walls, Lovely backyard with plenty fruit trees, Fresh paint in and out. Double paned windows. . It is in move in conditions. .

Lots of upgrades indeed! Although one upgrade you may want to do is to enlarge the garage since it looks like that SUV will cause it to burst.

Let’s take a look at those upgrades. Like the kitchen!


I really like the hose back there! It really adds a gritty SoMA feel to this house!
