Want to be romanced for Valentine’s Day?

burbed_guest_bloggerToday is a very special day if you love romance and lovers and all that twaddle.  Our featured home was suggested by Burbed reader Tracy Tea House, who thought it was perfect for February 14th. We went along with it because we really weren’t up to finding yet another pink house for this year.  Thanks very much and please give Tracy a big, warm Real Bay Area welcome as today’s Guest Blogger!

And also some chocolate.  This stupid Hallmark Holiday does have an upside.

Maybe a good house for Valentine’s Day as the Realtor is really trying hard to romance this house. Let’s go picture  by picture shall we?

Number one, bleak and dismal, focus on the stained and cracked concrete.

Number two, the desk will not fit in this small room so we will try to make you a believer by turning it diagonal.. Problem solved!

130213-arlington-doorNumber three, we are really proud of the stock door, and the paint. Pictures 3-5 are making the most of it.

Pic six, how to show the shower and tub in same photo? We wouldn’t want to waste an extra shot that could involve the commode. And, what makes the Jacuzzi sunken?

But my favorite is the last one. Like a set from a film in the San Fernando Valley. Imagine, an empty room, a bed, a bottle of wine and two glasses. And practically new remodeled 2007, and trying to get that back.

This house is ready for a Valentines Day date

If you’ve been a long-time reader of this blog, you may remember that burbed (our founder and long-time content creator) had this thing for pink houses.  So the site occasionally would dig up a pink house for Valentines Day.  This year, we found an even better listing for celebrating a day for lovers.  It’s all set up for a Special date you won’t forget!  Many thanks to Burbed reader The Maggadads for this fantastic find from Fremont!

Mission schools! 12,110 sq. ft. lot, 1-story. $50k spent on 2011 remodeling kitchen, baths, carpet, tile, french doors & lighting, dual pane, AC & backyard. Built-in 50’s Diner theme- pool cabana/antique western town, 6-car garage w/ 1/2 bath, pool w/ water fall, new lawn & sprinklers. Not a REO/SS!

120212-jackson-dinerHere’s what The Maggadads thought of this place with $50K spent on 2011 remodeling:

I just started reading your blog. Although I take a minor offense to the jabs you poke at Fremont, I couldn’t help but send you this listing.

I’m not sure which is cooler…the 50s themed diner or the western-themed fence. At least it has a 6-car garage!

120212-jackson-western-fenceWait, let me check, is this a house for sale, or a commercial property?  Because while it’s always good to have a space for entertaining a crowd, a 50s themed diner wasn’t exactly at the top of my list in must-haves for an 1,800 square foot house.

But a 50s themed diner AND a western themed fence, both!  I can die now.  What a Valentines Day you’ll have!  And if your date isn’t successful, one of you can retire to the six-car garage.

Well, this is one of those good news/better news situations.  The good news is yes indeed, this house is in a 100% residential district and there is no danger that one of your neighbors will be opening up a 40s themed diner to compete with yours (and incidentally use up all the street parking).  The better news is, well, location, location, location!

A Pink (sort of) House for Valentine’s Day <3

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Have you figured out what to get your sweetie to celebrate?  Chocolates?  Flowers?  Fruit basket?  Don’t think so small.  How about a pink house!  What, you can’t find any?  Well, how about an almost-pink house?

Nice home with a pool. Traditional Sale. Contractor’s Special. Two properties for sale with two separate parcel numbers, no need to subdivide. Combined lot size is 16,898 sq ft. Both lots to be sold together and must close escrow concurrently. This is a great opportunity. Easy to show.

Nothing like a Traditional Sale for a traditional holiday, and what could be more traditional than listing two properties separately and telling the buyer they must buy them as a package deal?  What’s even better is the property next door isn’t even listed.  Too bad they won’t sell you the big one next to that with the scrumptious parking lot.  Looks like you’d have room for about 80 vehicles.

But until you’re ready to buy your true love 12 Lamborghinis launching, 11 Audis accelerating into your 10 Pintos punctured… etc. why not just start with the house itself?  It might not be painted pink, but these photos are trying their best!

Either the photographer was wearing rose-colored glasses, or that’s some really old film.  And nothing is more romantic than an old movie.  So buy this home and you can star in your own romantic comedy.  How about Pacific Heights?
